I debated the Coniston and the Cambridge too and ended up purchasing the Cambridge (I preferred the exposed eyelets on the Cambridge). So far, I've been really pleased with the Cambridge. The leather and fit/finish is good on my pair. Price to Quality ratio is quite high. I can't speak to Loake, Grenson, or Barker but I'd say these AS are comparable to the Carmina and C&J bench grade that I own. I think the fit/finish is really clean (I'm used to Alden) and wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair of AS boots (especially on sale) if the right one speaks to me. The pics on A Fine Pair of Shoes website really don't do the boot justice. They're much better looking in person.

Unfortunately, you just missed the black friday sale at Pediwear. They were offering 20% off and free shipping on everything except for C&J. The Cambridge would have been a great deal at that price. Maybe they'll do something for after Christmas?

Thanks for the recommendation on the Cambridge.  Which color do you have?  Any idea if the pictures on Pediwear or AFPOS are true on the tan color?

I didn't know about the Pediwear sale.  The sale at A Fine Pair of Shoes is still active today, also 20% off.  I have an email in to them asking how long it lasts.  Hopefully long enough for me to make a decision.  But that usually takes me a while!  I don't mind waiting until after Christmas.  Do these shops often have sales then?

I have the lighter color, I think they call it Rustic or something like that. Color is close but brighter/warmer in person. But YMMV depending on your computer screen.

I haven't kept tabs but seems like 20% off is once a year at Black Friday. I was just speculating about after Christmas.

I rarely give out negative points here as they're such a downer, but there's just too much going on in Jazzmenco's pair. The nice thing is that the colours can be unified afterwards with penetrating dyes.

Lovely boots Jazzmenco. I rarely give out positive reviews J there must have been a lot of thinking behind those

boots and characteristics of the colourful ‚ÄúBuday Charm‚ÄĚ

We can see they’re a massive fan of colours and stitches.

The colour looks more appealing in your Pics. They looked to be a very bright green on Skoak's site.

@MoosicPa How would you compare the fit of the last to other Carmina lasts, mainly Detroit or Soller?

Many thanks in advance.

So have to ask what is your input of vass suede. I was thinking about getting there mid brown or red brown suede. If you compare to EB or carmina.

In terms of the suede Vass uses for their boot shafts I'll say it's good. Based on all day comfort I don't think I could go back to leather shafted boots going forward now. The suede is super soft, flexible, and is the motivating force behind my recent EB Derby purchase from Skoak  (suede shaft/leather upper) that should be here next week. I'll compare once they arrive. Keep in mind most brands use thinner leather and suede for their shafts than uppers. I also own a pair of Carmina suede derbys which are just as buttery.

I think my next Vass purchase will also be a reddish brown suede boot. Perhaps a U lasted "Theresianer High Boot".
