Inspired by a post by nolledw back in August. These are all of my boots.

They are all Crockett and Jones (7 pairs) or Joseph Cheaney (5 pairs).

@andermt second from right in bottom row (the reddish brown wingtip boot)? I own the bottom right pair, those things are tanks, perfect winter boot.

what's my best bet for a black calf balmoral boot with leather sole, with a shaft that's not too high (Carmina's are too high for my liking).  Price range is up to $550.

Can anyone recommend a quality black leather chelsea boot for around 300 dollars, possibly with the brown soles? I've been eyeing the common project boots but i dont think they'll be going on sale anytime soon. Thanks guys.

Hello boot lovers! Im new to boots but this is what I have so far:

Wolverine 1K Centennial Boots
Allen Edmonds Dalton Boots
Wolverine 1K McClean Boots

I got all of them on sale. Pretty good starters if you ask me. Now I'm looking for a nice pair of casual chukkas that I can wear with jeans. I don't really like the Clarks Desert Boots or Bushacre 2 Boots. Any other suggestions?...

You could take a look at the offerings from RM Williams, an Australian bootmaker known for making wholecut chelseas. SF has a 'forum special' design for a very sleek chelsea boot that you should be able to fit within that budget.

I'm not really digging the double loop at the tops of the shoes. I'm not sure what you mean by the sf forum special design. Could you tell me more?

The loops can always be cut off but they really do help since they help diffuse the stress of pulling on the boots across the uppers, plus you'd hardly ever see them if they are worn with trousers.

The SF special and almost anything you'd like to know about RM Williams can be found in the very first post of this thread: http://www.styleforum.net/t/21179/rm-williams-boots-everything-you-wanted-to-know

The info may be a tad outdated but it's still very valid. Good luck :)
