Nice to stumble onto this thread celebrating boots this morning. I wear boots 80% of the time or more. Just prefer them. So many great photos posted on this thread. My current collection, mainly Tricker's, Alden and Crockett & Jones…photo quality isn't so hot, so apologies in advance.

Alden cigar shell Indy's…one of my favorites and they get a lot of wear

Tricker's acorn stow…my first pair of boots, and the one's that started my obsession. While the 4497 is not sleek by any stretch, I enjoy it for casual wear and my work casual environment. I really fell in love with the acorn color…such an iconic Tricker's boot.

Special Tricker's make up from Pediwear in espresso scotch grain and coffee calf. Lol, probably
a "poor man's" Galway!

Alden Color 8 Shell WTB on barrie. This is a fantastic, versatile boot that can be dressed up
or worn with denim, and for me, barrie works well in my Northern California casual work environment.

Tricker's lollipop cavalier super boot from Bureau Belfast. Apparently, Horween is not making
lollipop cavalier anymore, but it's a beautiful color and goes great with olive chinos or denim

Crockett & Jones Islay -- I love this boot, and the leather is superb, but in my California drought environment
I find I never really wear them too much. Also, sometimes feel that a tan coniston would work better for me...

Tricker's black zug grain officer's boot. I searched for a black boot for a long time before finding these. They have a nice WWII feel to them and I wear them with khaki chinos or even cargo pants...

Better photo of the cigar Indy's polished up - awesome boots and perhaps my favorites. Have a deer bone coming from Kirby at the moment to work out some superficial scratches.

Alden color 8 NST Tanker boots… these are currently off at a cobbler's to have brass eyelets and speed hooks installed
and have the edging stripped and antiqued.

CXL Indy boots…with commando sole. CXL Indy boots don't get a lot of love perhaps because they are trendy and somewhat common at the moment, but they're a very comfortable casual boot and I wear mine a lot

RW iron rangers in amber harness -- usually for rough wear

.
And, when I am in the mood…some Stetson harness snip toe boots...

On the "want" list: Ravello or Cigar shell chukka or WTB; Tricker's cipresso shell boot (on MTO order currently); Edward Green Galway would be nice too down the road...

Great collection, @Carson. Great post. I have C&Js but have wanted to check out some Trickers at some point. You have fueled the fire.

If you ever want to talk Tricker's, send me a message. I've had 10 pairs, and I love them...

Good for you with the conistons… they are a fantastic boot and are on my short list right now.

I've had three IR's, as well as some other RW models.

I think they work great if you looking for a casual, rugged, work-boot kind of look. The amber harness is a solid choice but I almost prefer the copper now, as I think it would patina better.

I've had the hawthorne rough out, but it got so dirty and soiled the first few weeks I wore it, that it looked like it aged years in just a month. some people, apparently, like that look, but not so much for me. They tend to run big. I measure out a sold 9.5D, and take a 9 in Alden barrie/trubalance, and an 8.5 in the Tricker's 4497, and so for IR's, I wear a generous 9D.

So, I have nothing bad to say about Red Wing's at all, and would probably have kept more of the ones that I've bought if I didn't already have so many boots. I think it's a solid, rugged boot that works well when you're not in a formal environment and are generally wearing denim. Cigar and cherry Beckman's are also a nice boot to consider, and I love the 877/875 model, so it just depends on how and in what environments you plan to wear them!

I'm severely outclassed by the boots posted on this thread, but I thought I'd post my Spring collection of wing tip boots:

They're all AE Daltons; the left most is Walnut calf; the others are shell. I do recognize the redundancy.

And yes, I liked the photo so much, I just made it my avatar.

To all - Great boots, pics and posts!

I appreciate there's not much to go on here but is anyone able to identify what suede boots these are? And out of interest what colour are they typically described as?

Thanks.

Top one looks like an unstructured snuff suede chukka style boot…bottom one, I dunno
A number of good makers will produce boots that look - more or less - like that one. But in terms
of that exact boot, that would be a tough one from those photos, I would imagine….

It's the same boot, just different angles. Will have a search for that now, thanks for your help.
