I recently purchased this overcoat from Baris however was unable to really utilize it to its full potential as my work place is too casual now for such a nice overcoat. I have never worn it except to try it on so its still NWT attached.

Retail price is $8400, selling at $2000

This is the original listing:

http://www.styleforum.net/t/289370/final-drop-8400-tom-ford-100-cashmere-overcoat-size-40-us-nwt

I'm selling it hopefully to a buyer that could wear it better than I.

Measurements: Sz 40R US

Materials are 100% Cashmere on the outside, Lining is 55% Cotton and 45% Rayon. The cashmere on this coat is very thick, much nicer than a lot of my other overcoats.

Chest (pit to pit): 22.5 inches
Shoulder (shoulder seam to shoulder seam): 20 inches
Coat length (from back, bottom of collar to end of skirt): 45 inches
Sleeve length (shoulder seam to end of cuff): 26.25 inches (+1 inches to be taken out)

I'll throw in the TF hanger as well as a bonus. The hanger is brand new never used as well.

I'm curious what motivated the original purchase luo. I see some hand-stitched buttonholes and high armholes, but am otherwise surprised to see such a high MSRP. Given the lack of publicly available information about TF overcoats, I'd be interested in what you found to be distinctive about the piece on your hands.

Might also be useful for enticing potential buyers.

Hey BD22,

I'd love to say that I am some sort of expert on TF overcoats myself or even fine clothing in general but that would be putting too much into my opinion. But as to what motivated me to purchase the coat, it was definitely the original seller's high opinion of the piece. Baris has been selling fine clothing for quite some time on this forum and on ebay and was very adamant about how nice of a coat it was as compared to other coats that he's sold. And since I've bought plenty of other great items from him, I trusted in his opinion. After I received the coat Id have to agree that its one of the nicest coats in my collection. The cashmere is very soft and its very thick. Something about the texture of the cashmere just makes it look and feel significantly more luxurious than my other other 100% cashmere overcoats. Of course all coats can be tailored to your liking but this coat already had a very nice silhouette that fit very well even before there was any alterations.

Now I will say that I am biased towards Tom Ford products and almost exclusively buy the brand nowadays. There was a point when almost my entire wardrobe consisted of RLBL and RLPL but all that has been replaced with Tom Ford. The only things that I really don't buy Tom Ford is the shoes but thats just because I don't like their styling. I have a couple of pairs but they're rarely worn.

Is the jacket worth $8400? I honestly would not pay that type of money for it but I do believe that its easily worth the discounted price tag of $2400.

Thanks for the reply. I've got a TF fetish too and $2.4k is a reasonable price -- too narrow across the shoulders for me, unfortunately.

Not a problem! If you have any other questions please let me know! Also I'm not sure what your should size is but I just measured it and it's actually 20 inches laying flat vs the 19 inches on the hanger.
