Hello all,

I haven't bought any fine clothes in awhile and stumbled upon a Nordstrom Rack today. I decided to browse and I wasn't too impressed by the selection of men's clothes. Lots of Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and other Macy's level clothing.
While browsing through the suits I spotted an Addison A-series Hickey Freeman gray pinstripe worsted wool suit in my size, 42L. I tried it on and the shoulders and chest fit perfectly. Even the sleeve length was perfect. I could feel canvas construction and decided to take a chance on it. The cost was $224. I took it to my tailor today and he loved it. He confirmed it was fully canvassed, loved the fabric and said the lapels were hand stitched. He is a real stickler for fit. He and his partner make bespoke suits right on premise. He confirmed the shoulders and chest were great. He has to sew the buttons on the sleeve. This is a side vent jacket and he's going to add a strap. I believe it is to keep the vents in the right place. Because of my shoulder blades I have what he called a hollow back. Extra cloth folds out in the back where the sleeves and shoulders meet. He's taking in fabric there. The pants are unfinished so they will be hemmed and the seat let-out. He's a little expensive but the quality of his work is second to none. Alterations are running me $190.

For a total of $415 I think I made a good choice.

The suit is a more traditional cut and style which most salesmen seem to shy me away from so all of my suits are more modern fits such as Brooks Brothers Fitzgerald. I am happy to finally have a traditional suit.
