I'm curious what cars members drive...do you like it?

Do you do your own car care/detailing?

I have a 2000 VW Passat. I'm basically happy with it -- it's transportation, I'm not a car guy.

If by detailing you mean emptying out the accumulated garbage when it starts to smell and washing off the bird poop (I park under a tree) once a month or so, then yes I do that myself.

I have a piece of shit Lexus and a piecer of shit 911. Both leases are up soon and I can't wait to kick them to the curb. I will be rocking a Mini.

Detailing? Isn't that what car washes are for, not that these two junkers deserve it. I wash once or twice a year.

Old 92 Corolla Sedan. I am a student, it is reliable and (untill recently) gets good gas mileage, while still having a fair amount of pep. I am a car guy so my car is slightly modified (only rolla sedan in the world with Levin coupe headlights fitted) and has seen plenty of track time. This has caused it, in conjunction with its age/>200K miles on the clock, to slowly die over the last year. If I were to drop a new engine (even a stock one, though I doubt that would happen) into it, I am sure it would go another 200k more, and still achieve 44-46MPG Highway.

You classify your 911 as a POS, but are looking forward to a driving Mini...please elaborate. I'm probably just biased, as I have always been a 911 fanatic.



I drive an 03 Cobra, the interior is less than spectacular, but the power and toruee make up for it.

I detail the M myself, the others get done at a car wash or the dealer.

One day, I hope to own a 993.

LK, from the pic I saw of your car a while back, I would assume you detail it yourself. The paint looked like a mirror.

Yes, I do detail it myself.

I wouldn't trust most places and the car has a fair amount of chrome.

I have a Subaru Outback and a '67 Plymouth Satellite. I do my own work on the Satellite because I don't trust people with it. The Subaru I let them touch.

A 2000 Corolla four-door. It has a dent in the passenger side door thanks to an anonymous NYC driver who failed to leave a courtesy note. Basically, I hate cars and dream of riding public transport again.

I'd like a Mercedes 450SEL 6.9. People see an innocuous albeit somewhat chrome-garnished sedan, but it could probably pass all of them with room to spare.
