Agree with you, d*3. Regarding the bulbous toe comment however, there are many who think the 2030 last is way too sleek and would even consider the Truman last too dressy as well, i.e., not workboot enough. I'm not one of them, although I do understand their point.

I've seen some of these comments, but personally I have a real hard time considering any of these type of boots dressy. Personally I can't see wearing any of these with anything other than jeans. Somethings are all relative to what your used to, but still.

I love the look of these boots. I don't think the toe is very bulbous at all. Not sleek and as pointed as the 2030 last, but not OSB bulbous IMO. I could easily wear with chinos.

Ok, so do you really consider chinos dressy?

Nope. Just saying you can wear it with more than jeans. Didn't notice the 'dressy' part of your comment.

Cool, just making sure.

The value proposition is much better.

Fit is similar to 2030, but 1/2 size smaller.

I wear 8 in 2030, and 8.5 in this Truman last.

The last is only slightly sleeker.

The instep seems to be similar.

I don't have any unstructured toe boots from Viberg, as mine are all partially structured.

The proportions are slightly different. the vamp feels shorter, and the cap on the toe is a hair longer.

The heel cap does not extend all the way to the pull tab.

I want to be careful about comparing them to Viberg.

I don't get the feeling they are trying to be a "Viberg copy".

They appear similar, but it sounds like they have a lot of interesting things in the works.

what about truman width compared to viberg 2030 last width?

and if u had gotten an 8 in a truman instead of 8.5, can u still fit nicely into it by just wearing thinner socks?

the entire toe box area of a 2030 last looks flatter and more "compressed" compared to a truman. do u feel that has lesser space than a truman?

I think you may have a misunderstanding.

The Truman last is clearly sleeker than 2030 in person. (speaking unstructured only)

I can not speak to the structured toe.

I would not have fit into an 8, even with thin socks.

When you get a chance can you share some 2030 vs Truman comparison pics?  I know I've seen them before, and I was also under the impression that the 2030 was "sleeker" than the Truman.

I think it might be a common confusion.  Would be really helpful as you take nice photos; thanks in advance.

2030 in natty cxl next to #8 CXL/Kudu Truman next to each other...2030 is more sleek for sure especially as it is a more symetrical design which many do not like

Just got these. Java waxed flesh with gusseted tongue and commando sole with no pull-up.

Interesting you say this. In what way do you think the Truman last is sleeker? I have 2030 boots but don't own any Trumans yet. But just from pics, I'd always considered the Trumans to be less sleek.

I'll try to get a side by side set of pics in the next day or so.

The truman has a more narrow mid foot area and tighter across the vamp...so there are sleeker aspects to the truman. However overall the toe box and design is very much more boots than the 2030.

The toe on some recent trumans I have seen are def. a touch different...lasted tighter maybe?

They are machine lasted now versus hand lasted previously.

Vince told me this when I was there.
