For those looking for a nice Chelsea, I would suggest RM Williams. I bought a pair two weeks ago and they are extremely comfortable. I got the comfort craftsman model in brown latego leather which is oily but has a nice subdued matte finish. I think especially because of the leather I hardly have any creases. They retail for $389 which is a good value compared to the yearling leather versions of the same model which are $590. Mind you, it might not be possible to get too much of a shine with this particular leather but I have to say they are some of my most comfortable pairs of shoes compared to all my EG's, St. Crispins, JL's etc. The shape of the last is a slight soft square kind of like the 888 but slightly wider maybe. It goes well with jeans or creased trousers.

Proxy update!

For Proxy #1 (Grenadine ties), the ties arrive today and will be available this week. I'll contact everybody individually to set up the time/place for pickup.

For proxy #2 (squares, additional ties), the items will likely arrive by next week. Will keep you all posted.

Some nice Samuelsohn's in that size!

Dropped by The Outlet in Miss. this afternoon. Lots of stuff, and great deals, but nothing in my size that would have come out to $125 (even after the extra $75 off). Spotted a couple of jackets that I considered for a moment, but they wouldn't have seen enough use for me to justify the purchase, even at the deep discount.

I'm waiting for the ties to go down to the $29 I paid a few times in the past.

There certainly was (that's my usual size). I was mostly browsing the more casual, soft jackets. I believe I saw items by Corneliani, Polo, John Varvatos, maybe Zegna, etc.

They also had a rack of dress shirts for $69.99. Saw RLBL in there.

Do you put anything on your boots to prepare them for all the salt and slush of winter?

I moved and all my collar stays are in the bottom of a box somewhere..which prompts the question: any of you guys ditched the stays and just specify starched collars at the dry cleaners?
