Hey guys, stopped by Woolridge shoes today and spoke to Ivor. He brought in some beautiful Cheaneys and they're priced really well (cheaper than Holt Renfrew).

As an SFer I've become used to scouring the net for the best prices for shoes, but there's a charm to shopping at an independent shop, and Ivor is a great guy.

And for the Loakes, he offers recrafting services and actually has Loake branded replacement heals.

Want to make a small proposal to Toronto based SFers. What do you guys think of doing a meetup at Woolridge and doing a 'purchase bomb'? There's a couple of cool pubs close for afterwards. And frankly, I think it'd be great to support a local independent business owner who's actually passionate about his craft.

I'm in for a pair of Loake or Cheaneys.

Anybody in for this?

After Christmas last year the Bay at Queen put all remaining1000 Miles at 40% off, so I bought two pairs. I have no idea if it will happen again, but worth watching for

Too bad I missed it. Thanks - I'll keep an eye out. But I think Wolverine and AE are discontinued at the Bay on Queen, as I didn't find them when I visited the store a while back. They do carry church's now and a few pairs of shoes in the $500s range with subpar quality....leather was worse than Meermin's imho lol

Speaking of the The Bay and Loake shoes, I was in the The Bay a couple of weeks ago and while walking by the men's shoe section an SA handed me a Loake 1880 brochure and said "new in the store". I didn't see them anywhere, but was in a hurry and not there to browse shoes. Has anyone spotted these Loake's at The Bay, and if so, prices? I've seen the Church's.
