I picked up the Carmina tan double monks and tobacco Adelaides a few weeks ago at the start of their sale. Two styles that I didn't own so it was a no brainer! Im really loving Carmina...

The brown suede Tetbury's are calling my name...

Swung by this aft. Lots left at serious discount, particularly the C&J! When I set out today it was to rectify a major missing pair in my fleet: a traditional GY brown captoe (left). Have a nice midrange Ferragamo brown captoe I actually bought off Jok last summer basically NIB which is still nice but it's best for trousers/shirt vs suit b/c it doesn't have that heft as a blake. This Carmina captoe was a 1/2 size too big really and I almost passed but snug enough (no slippage/movement) and I think it'd have been a looong time until I got another opp at this price. Also snagged the brogue on the right as it was in my perfect size and I think a different last that was amazing. Very comfy. Couldn't resist despite it being o/s "mission parameters". Not an insignificant spend but what the hell: hadn't bought even a tie or shirt let alone shoes since exactly last August. Two pairs Carmina for the price of one! Consult Burger's list and get down there while ya can. (apologies in advance for standing in a shadow, lol)

*oh and the guy said some of the sizes in that PDF were attributed to the wrong models, so if you liked anything at all named on the list I'd call on your size!

I had some Alden Unlined Snuff Chukkas put aside and apparently they're on sale ($585) as well, but are not on the list. However at that price I'm thinking that the Snuff Bulchers might be a better buy at $480. I'm thinking they're pretty much exchangeable in terms of formality and outfits?

I'm sure this gets asked often but what tailors do y'all recommend and what's their price like? I have a few coats that could use some slimming and sleeve shortening.

Any in the east end?

They're basically the same thing visually when looking down.  Get the PTB if its what you want.  Also can't go wrong with the chukka.

Chukkas go on sale once in a blue moon for people going out of business or end of season sales.  Usually down to $375 USD.  But not often and they go fast.

I own the chukkas and love them. I had to sell the PTB's because the heel was too large on the Barrie last. If the Barrie last fits you, go for it. The Dover pattern is so attractive.

Thanks for confirming what I was thinking. Pricing seems a little off when compared to the other Alden sale prices, so I'm hoping it was a mistake.

Pretty good. Prolly pass as I already own a brown semibrogue.

This was one of four bestsellers available wide now. Black captoe, tan, this and some other. Sadly the nice GY loafer that looks like the JW Weston 180 (more than other makes do, anyway) hasn't and probably won't be manufactured wide : (

Loding = French full-grain leather/Portuguese labor + almost all GY. If some dandy doesn't believe that just hold a front kick, lol:

Every single model is $330 i.e. there is never a sale. So $372.90 to walk out the store. Make browsing pretty simple.

Basically the AE of France.

They're dtown, dav & avenue and now Sherway.

Cheers
SR

I'm a fan. God, are they ever more comfortable than AE or what?!

If you know your size, Gilt, Hautelook usually has them and pretty sure under C$100.

Grailed is pleased to announce that we’re headed up north next week. We’ll be in Toronto taking in the city and hopefully meeting all of our users in the 6. Mark your calendars for Monday, August 15th as we’ll be throwing an event at the Thompson Hotel rooftop with our friend Alex from The Featured Article. Space will be limited, so please shoot us a quick confirmation of your attendance to RSVP@GRAILED.COM. Come hang out, meet some members of our team and have a drink on us. There’s no dress code or anything, but that’s because we’re assuming you will all be rocking your best fits. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Anyone here attending this event?
