does anyone have any recommendations on where to start looking for a tux? went to harry at yorkdale and they had a limited selection.

Do you know what the prices were roughly for the suits?

I was there yesterday, they had some isaia trousers around 200 for corduroy, and 230 for wool. Jackets from them were 1000 at the high end, and suits were probably around 1500 too. Zegna and other stuff was probably just under 1000 for the most part.

Yeah, I was there too yesterday. The charvet ties were nice, but most of them had runs.

Interesting the extra 40% off is back it was there the first time I visited and not the second time during the weekdays this week. It's probably amongst the lowest prices I've seen from local retailers for Zegna and Isaia.

they might not be carrying them going forward, hence the rock-bottom pricing.

Hopefully I'm wrong.......

They've already brought in fall/winter stuff for Zegna and Isaiah. So all is well.

I'm just curious to see if any of this makes it to saks off fifth. I also noticed a few of the racks (mostly streetwear) had last markdown, but none of that was on the suits/shirts/ties. Maybe it'll go even further down.

Zegna is to large cookie-cutter department stores as Givenchy is to international students

I just caught up with some of my former colleagues. Those on the hunt may want to wait until later on in the week if they can bear it.

At Saks? They're going to drop prices even lower than 75% off retail? Oh my.....what day will that happen?

I was in NYC the day that the extra 40% off of all sale items started and I must say that the merchandise selection was pretty mind blowing. There was a ton of stuff on sale everywhere, and it was all great brands - I almost purchased a Burberry Shearling coat at 75% off of $5000, but had no space in my luggage for such a large jacket. I wanted to pay for it in NY and ask them to ship it to the Toronto store for me to pickup in order to avoid the taxes and duties and to get around the luggage problem, but the SA never got back to me. He hinted that it was possible, as long as there was someone in the Toronto store willing to receive it. Anyway, it was a madhouse at the main Saks store on Fifth Avenue. The crowd at the store here in downtown TO seems way more subdued. I didn't really see many people trying stuff on. I wonder how the store here is actually doing.

PSA for streetwear fans: There was a blue leather Margiela 5 zip leather moto jacket for sale at the downtown Saks for about $700 after all the discounts. It is a size 52 EU. It wasn't there a few days earlier. I'm guessing it was a return.

Any good prices on Samuelsohn or their house brand? (Which I think is Samuelsohn?)
