I use Saphir Super Invulner as well. Tarrago has something similar at half the price. You can find both at LeatherFoot.

I use Tarago, works fine. I get mine at Leatherfoot but Novelty has it as well.

I'll be the black sheep and say I use the generic stuff every mall store sells.  Works just fine, doesn't discolour.  Repels stains/water good.

However I don't have suede over $500.  And if I did I would likely default to a better product.

Is Leatherfoot shoe selection the same in store as online?

I don't think there is anything wrong with that; it's not a mutually exclusive relationship. I believe the biggest difference is that the more expensive ones do not contain silicone and I tend to feel better using it but if performance is the only concern I doubt there is a siginificant difference.

For 99% of the case yes. There are maybe a couple things I've seen in store that's not on the website. My understanding is that they are either really new arrivals that haven't been entered into the system yet, last pairs, or something really unique like crocodile St Crispin's.

I have been told that there is a new shipment expected for mid Feb and that they are able to order in pretty much any style you find in the catalogues for the brands they carry.

I have used both the generic kind and the Saphir. I don't know, I really haven't seen a difference because I don't get caught in rain

These are my size:

I don't really need a penny loafer but these might be too good of a price to pass up?

@clarksdb note the size is as quoted by the brand which I believe is UK...they don't mention it on the website. I've gone in to try a pair I saw online only to be disappointed.

Those were definitely in store when I was in last weekend and if they are still on the website it's still there. They are beautiful shoes on a very nice last (I have a black captoe oxford on the Simpson) and when you factor in taxes and likely duties it will be cheaper than buying from the Carmina outlet plus you get to try them on and examine in person first at LeatherFoot.

This Carmina outlet you speak of?

Carmina uses UK sizing as does every other brand carried there. They will be carrying Alden as well so that one will be US sizing.

You are still looking at $350 CAD for the least expensive ones.

As a PSA there is still a style of Cheaney's left at HR Men for $270 plus tax. It's not my style but a very good price for the quality. The sales associate was the most pushy I've ever encountered; he took the shoes right away after I tried them on and tried to ring them up haha!

Thanks! Now I'm just after a pair of sleek monkstraps with a rubber sole. I know Philip can do it but I'm not shopping in that price range though it would definitely be cool to meet him.

I suggest your speak with @jokb about ordering a pair of Vass.
