You just missed out on BlackBook's 30% off sale on B&R, Tumi, etc.

They were still at pre-loonie nosedive prices too.

.....and I work in the building right next door....:brick:

Thanks, maybe I'll go by and see what they have....

Tried on some BBBF oxfords today and if you're an athletic guy (v shaped torso) they won't do you much good. Cut fairly generously around the gut.

Very disappointing. I was expecting Thom Browne designed items to be much more modern.

Also a heads up that they don't have any of the old Milano fit OCBDs in stock. If you haven't heard these have been discontinued and replaced with a new oxford which costs $75 more.

Anywhere else for good quality OCBDs locally? Spier and Mackay never have slim fits in stock in basic colors. It's a shame because a decent, inexpensive OCBD could really be a cornerstone for their business. Especially with BB discontinuing theirs.

I have both the mainline BB Milano fit OCBDs and a Red Fleece version. Honestly not a huge difference and the RF ones are quite inexpensive, especially if you can find any in the current sale.

I don't think that's too unreasonable to start. Several years ago (Jan '08?) I bought at MTM there during the Samuelsohn sale, which came in around $1100. I was young(er) and naive at the time, and would do a couple of things a little differently now, but I recall it was the entry-level fabric range. I'm not sure that as a menswear retailer RJ is competing entirely on price though.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll check it out. From what I remember the material on the Red Fleece is quite a bit thinner (correct me if I'm wrong), leading me to prefer the MiUSA OCBD.

Also, if you've been looking at the BB thread, the extra 20% discount on Black Fleece has started.   The Black Fleece dress shirt priced at $215 CDN works out to $68.80.   Sizes are all mixed up at the RBC location, so looking for one can be a pain.

Harry Rosen is offering Samuelsohn MTM starting at $1095 though the fabric selection is very limited. Maybe Robert Jones offers a higher grade of fabric and/or more options in which case it might be a better deal.

I almost bought what was probably that same shantung tie. It was really nice and unique. But then I thought, do I really need to spend about $100 after tax on another tie? I'm still torn...

I am considering one of those BF shirts, if I can find one with long enough arms! Has anyone who's a 15.5x35 ever had one that fits well?

Nomad marked down all FW 2015 stuff by 70% (although Filson for whatever reason is only marked down by 50%, price adjustment maybe?) ...

Filson Original Briefcase in Navy for $167

Sorry for the late reply.

Unfortunately I'm the last person you should ask to judge the quality of construction of a suit as I'm pretty much a noob in this area as I've never handled any of the high end brands like Kiton, Attolini etc... or even Pal Zileri.

Stan is pretty easy to talk to so if you're interested you can call him up to talk or go down to his shop to look at some in-progress suits. He won't try to schmooze you or use high pressure sales tactics either. His shop is literally around the corner from Garrison. Just keep in mind that his sale prices are only for fabrics that he has on hand.

Stopped by the Brooks Bros after work and picked up some black scotch grain longwings by C&J for$244! Kind of a weird shoe, but great quality and I'll wear them mostly with jeans.
