Anyone have any info on where I can find thin down coats in the GTA aside from all the obvious sports stores.

I'm looking for something like the Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer, ideally not at cost smile.gif

Hey @tricky there aren't many Mountain Hardwear dealers in the GTA the best deals are at Live Out There and Altitude Sports online. Good deals at both places. I get discounts there if you want me to grab one for you.

The pair of Carmina I wanted had some minor signs of wear from having been tried on by customers, so I asked if they can do any better on the price and was offered $200 off list and 50% off lasted shoe trees. I didn't need further convincing at that price.

La Difference is quite a hike from where I live. I'll send you a PM.

Ahhh. I emailed them and they only had a pair of black Simpsons in my size (12D), I guess I should've went in person and checked out if they had any demos. Oh well.

Yes, Rolex and Tudor is all they do now, nice small boutique. I've had nothing but good experiences with them, but it depends on the salesperson (had a fantastic time with Kelly, but one of the other ladies when I went to pick it up wasn't all that knowledgeable about the product lineup). All in all, I paid $3538 all in, retail price was $3690 (SS bracelet) + tax. No real negotiations done.

Worth checking with Bobby at Canwatchco.ca too.

Definitely check with Bobby as well,  if you don't want the AD experience (whatever that may be).

Check the Arc'teryx Atom AR and Nuclei FL. Both are much better than the GW or Thermoball.

As other have said, the work is competent so I would go for it for something like a topy, but I wouldn't let them resole a pair of mine. Came by last summer and asked about sunken toe plate and JR soles and all I got was this deer in headlight "WTF are you talking about" look so I figured this place wasn't worthy of my shoes (as I said earlier, I still either send my shoes to my cobbler in Montreal or drop by B.Nelson when in NYC). Kind of a bummer since I got very excited going there when I learned they were carrying Saphir products....

Now you got me excited with this Kaner's place, do they do sunken toe plate? Use JR Soles?

So, big thanks to @ADub for this tip-off. I've been in Via Cavour today and managed to get two sport coats (I am waiting for my wife to return from work, at which point I'll be executed in front of children).

Anyways, there are still some Pal Zileri stuff left, if someone is looking for suits/jackets in $500-$700 range (for mainline) or $1000 (for Sartoriale).

I was there today and got my suit for my wedding. A gorgeous charcoal DB suit. It's PZ mainline, Loro Piana fabric, and was $750+tax. Fits like a dream.

Hey guys,

The Samuelsohn event started at Harry's today. Made to measure on clearance fabrics is $1095. They had a decent selection, with some staple fabrics as well (solid navy and charcoal).

Always happy to pass along a deal as long as someone doesn't buy something I want before I do. ;) They also have some Brunello Cucinelli at 30% off and all their footwear is 50% off.

I am a little jealous that you and gs77 were able to score something at 70% off. If only they had something in 46 or I fit a 48. Instead I bought a Corneliani for more than what the Pal Zileri Sartoriale would have cost on sale.

I have my appointment on Thursday. Were there any spring or summer weight open weave fabric for $1095, specifically a navy fresco or hopsack?

I would like to get a summer suit with natural shoulders, light canvassing, and minimal lining. Has anyone had something similar made through the Samuelsohn MTM program? I understand that's not Samuelsohn's typical style so am I better off getting something RTW or going with a bespoke tailor?

Speaking of bespoke has anyone used Bulloch Tailors or has seen their work to offer an opinion on the house style and construction quality? They were mentioned once on the MTM/bespoke tailors thread and have a store closing sale offering bespoke suit at $1795 for super 100-130. If there are other good true bespoke tailors in the city that does it for even less I'd like to hear about them and your experience with them.

I'd recommend the Ashton Soft model with half lining. Didn't see fresco, but a few all season.

Bloor for sure as that's where I have my appointment though you would think it would be corporate wide.
