Alden are appealing to me more and more. At least you know HST is worse case.

The combination of crushing duties and horrendous exchange rate is definitely putting a big chill on my shoe purchase plans. If a local option doesn't exist, I'll pretty much have to take a pass going forward.

Also UPS supposedly charges the highest "brokerage fees" and doesn't miss a chance to charge the maximum possible in duties and taxes. :brick:

Alden are made in the USA so shouldn't have duties, just brokerage and HST, right?

If it's not too late, self clear the package at Pearson to skip out on the UPS brokerage fees.

Anyone know any places downtown to buy buttons for a suit jacket? Do any of those fabric stores on Queen sell them?

Bought some rider boots the other week... 170 cad, got hit 70. I'm going to try meermins left, I heard the local shipping works sometimes.

I got for $203 from the Whiskey Wing tip boot from AoM with UPS. You can self-clear though, it will save you the brokerage fees ($100 in my case).

Enough of that, I now have a proxy bring up all my gear.

Just read up on clearing yourself and it seems like a bit of work and time. Program just gonna eat it on these.

I used to import high, HIGH end audio from the US and learned very quickly how to clear myself after UPS raped me.

Here's a picture of the tag. This was on the shoe rack towards the front of J Crew at Eaton's. Didn't get a chance to ask for size run.
