HAHA, how true, I can relate so well.
Well, seeing as I am a member here, I felt it was my duty to make sure he doesn't look like he's wearing something we found in the back of the closet.
That being said, the suit was bought for him, and very very affordable and the fact it was altered to fit, looks pretty close to MTM. Much thanks to Rick.
He and I are fortunate where we can buy OTR with minimal alterations. Shoes obviously are mine, he needs a summer job LOL.

And you did a great job emidyl! Everything in his ensemble is spot on. Makes me feel good to see my work in a prom setting.

I'm in the same boat as some of you guys, I wore my dad's suit and shoes as well when I had my prom. I didn't know better back then but it hurts my eyes looking at the pictures. Lol

Just got back from a Very Very positive experience buying my first pair of Vass (Brown Cap Oxfords) form Jok. I'm looking forward to posting some pics when I have the chance. As I said to Jok, I don't even think I'll have occasion to where these shoes until I buy some suits next year but after a lot of hours browsing NMWA, Leatherfoot, Pediwear, etc. etc. it seemed like Jok's prices on the Vass might be to good a deal to pass up. The shoes fit me better than any dress shoe I've tried on (limited sample, but still) and after Jok showed me a St. Crispin and an EG to compare to I like the Vass that much more as they compare very well to my eye. I'm very happy to have found an upscale shoe in the right size and last that I can order without any hassles or additional costs related to shipping. Very Cool Experience.

Thanks Roger, your name actually came up as when we mentioned the SF connection and some of the people Jok has done work for. Being able to mention SF and this thread was a cool addition to going out and buying some shoes.

good stuff Bill.
If I fit more of those sizes Jok had on hand I would have walked out with at least 2 more pairs.

Thanks Bill. I always enjoy meeting fellow SF'ers and talking about fashion in general and specially more with shoes. It was my pleasure to help you into your first pair of Vass.

It says on the front of the linked page that there'll be a $35 shipping charge.

I think the best Canadian shoe tree deal is this:
http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00BZH43BY

They are very similar to Woodlore Epic - I have both and can't really tell the difference. For two pairs, they're cheaper than the massdrop deal. They don't have the same sizing as the Woodlore Epics however - but Amazon's return policy is quite generous as well.

Best option for us in Toronto, drive to Buffalo when going across the border anyway, head to Jos A Bank and grab 3 pairs of trees for $15. They have their buy 1 get 2 free sale pretty regularly.
