I prefer red teas, but I do enjoy green, white and black too. Does that make me eclectic enough? But to answer Matt's question, I don't have an issue with drinking on an empty stomach, be it tea, coffee or alcohol.

Try white tea. It's white, so it's better.

A good oolong is the best. The stronger the brew, the better.

My wife has a rather extensive collection ranging from Yerba Mate to chamomile, from white to black and the whole range. Like most things in life: do what works for you. If you can't drink it on an empty stomach, then dont. Have a piece of toast or something first. I can drink several cups of strong coffee on an empty stomach and be fine. That'd probably kill my wife. People are different. Just do what works for you.

Try Taiwanese "high mountain tea" (gao shan cha), I drink it all day & nite.
