Jacket Vent and Peak Lapel Question....

I have a few older suits that are ventless. As I understand it side vents are considered more European where a rear vent is North American. Is it incorrect to have Ventless jackets? Can vents be added?

Also, I have a very nice Zegna Navy Suit with peak collar. How big is too big? I picked the suit up at a consignment shop. The peaks tend to fall away from the suit. Is this a case of bad pressing ore insanely large collar?

They cannot be added. And ventless suits are not incorrect.

Ok..... I made a cardinal sin of looking at GQ. They indicated that "Ventless means you find it hard to let go of the 80s". Yeesh!

I think GQ's target audience nowadays was born in the 1980s, so that's a stretch.

I think the size of those lapels is fine since the jacket is DB. It probably wouldn't hurt to have it pressed though.

The gorge and the button stance, on the other hand, look pretty 80s-fantastic low.

as long as they're not falling forward WHILE you're wearing them, you'll be fine.

It certainly looks like it, but without seeing it worn, it's hard to tell how retro it looks.

Add a pair of buttons to convert it from a 4-on-1 to a 6-on-1. That will probably emphasize the vertical.

True; I meant to add that caveat. Without seeing it on a person, this impression can be deceptive.
