“'Until yesterday it was being said that the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline will not be allowed but today no-one talks about it''"
"Misc Rebel Group" = Terrorists.
PML-N = Nawaz party.
"We have fought two Americans wars but this time it is the issue of our time-tested friend and holy places.”"
Time tested friend? Asshole, you have plenty of cables showing Saudi and Gulf donors sending money to terrorists who are destroying your country.
The grouping of "misc. rebel groups" and the exclusion of Hashd al-Sha'abi are also problematic. I suppose it's not meant for anyone who can name a "misc. rebel group" or the members of HS. Alas.
Let's not pretend like Bashar isn't a terrorist.
I like Karl Sharro's version:
"More evidence is emerging that implicates senior officials in Turkey's political Islamist government of aiding and abetting radical groups, including al-Qaeda and the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), presenting the risk of the NATO-ally country earning a reputation of being a state that sponsors terrorism."
Get those trips to Istanbul in before Turkey is kicked out of NATO and designated as a state sponsor of terror. In a similar vein, the Ayasofya heard it's first Qur'an recitation in 80some years today.
My understanding is that the S-300 system is not a real threat to the IAF but it's enough of a threat that they tend to zap them whenever they look Hizb bound from Syria. This happened a few months ago. I'm not sure how prepared Saudi is against these. Jets are not really my bag. I would guess that Suadi is more vulnerable to these types of missiles due to lack of experience and incompetence. Although this article claims Saudi could surpass Israel in terms of air capability soon.
The newer S-400 on the other hand sound like they might be pretty formidable but they have only been sold to China thus far.
I have seen a lot of people talking about turning the Decisive Storm coalition on Syria. Seems to be just the fantasies of the people at this point. Can you share some sources for this?
http://militaryedge.org/armaments/s-300vm-sa-23-giantgladiator/ More information about the variant being sold to Iran.
"Designed to engage cruise and ballistic missiles as well as ISR aircraft such as E-8 JSTARS, U-2s, E-3 AWACS, and tactical jamming aircraft. Also known as the Antey-2500 Reportedly capable of targeting stealth aircraft and jam resistant."
The ways in which a Turkish-Saudi overthrow of Bashar could go wrong are so many and varied I can't even begin to think about it. I wonder what the current SAA would do if the regime were decapitated. Likely fall Hizbollah or create new militias to fight the jihadists, yeah?
