Fun Turkey statistic: 24% of Turks responded to a survey that other people are generally trustworthy. Compare to 49% in the US and up to 89% in Denmark.

Lots of emphasis on "the enemy within" in Turkish society.

More fun Turkey: the neo-Kemalists who hooded the US Sailor on shore leave could face 10.5 years in prison.

Put in Google Translate to read.

John Kerry pronounced داعش و أحرار as dash and areare. Does he not have any advisors who are at least familiar with the Arabic alphabet? Whatever, Murica!

His boss is Muslim. Does that count?

More worrying than Kerry's ignorance of or unwillingness to learn Arabic pronunciations, lumping Ahrar in with IS, Hamas, and Boko Haram is probably foreshadowing. Ahrar and Tawhid are already designated by the UAE and I imagine a US designation of Ahrar is coming.

Where would you reset to? Jahiliyyah? Time of the Prophet? The days of the Mongol Empire? Saddam? Hafiz? The Ottoman Caliphate?

Only forward to go.

The Crusades, perhaps? Its time for us to share the Gospel with them.

What happens when you give a Turkish tea glass to an American? He puts whiskey in it and makes an infographic on why it makes a great glass for whiskey.

That would work if everyone refused any immigration/flights from the ME.

If you want a wonky theory for "fixing" the ME, I believe that a massive effort to teach English would be hugely beneficial. Look at King Abdullah, dude hardly speaks Arabic and Jordan is much better off than most Arab countries right now.

I have no idea what the fuck you are insinuating.

Anywho,

Jihadism is a nihilistic cancer that's afflicting its own societies more than anyone else.

120+ dead, mostly children in a Taliban attack on a Peshawar school.
