I think that you are not understanding who shah is.

A poster on styleforum. Is there any reason I should fear disagreeing with him?

You're not disagreeing with him. You're attributing to him characteristics that don't actually exist.

Should I have put a trigger warning before I wrote my post mocking him? Also, I'm fairly sure he's a big boy and doesn't need you defending him.

I think you all need to cool out and look at Recep Tayyip Gollum.

Deal.

ISTANBUL — A judge has asked five experts to determine whether comparing Turkey's president to "Lord of the Rings" character Gollum should be considered an insult.

How crazy is it that this is what turkey thinks is important right now?

What is the theory of those who doubt what russia is saying?

Isis is smuggling weapons and 1000s of fighters and oil convoys without anyone catching them?

I highly doubt anyone reasonable would think that.

If you think it turns a blind eye, does a state/army really turn a blind eye to militants with weapons in its borders like that?

And are we supposed to believe that the state turns a blind eye to oil convoys and just lets whoever is buyijg make a profit out of them, yet theyre too angelic to be involved themselves?

Are you saying the russian images and footage is fsbricated? False? Out of context?

I see everyone rejecting any tlak and wants to pretend that isis just suddenly appeard and its resources rain down on it constantly for 5 years

@alan I don't even know. The evidence seems so overwhelming from multiple sources in multiple countries that the contrarian viewpoint baffles me. I'm usually someone who can see both sides of an issue but this seems pretty airtight.

here's the thing, alan, i don't think there's any doubt of involvement from elements within the turkish regime and/or military. i just can't fathom it being the active policy of the leadership as a primary funder of IS. that would lead to WW I all over again ! The Russian images could be anything and they very well may be blowing up tankers and oil fields, but i haven't seen a picture of Erdogan shaking hands with al Baghdadi which is basically how they're trying to make it seem like. If it was such a pressing and urgent matter, why did Russia wait until this very opportunistic moment to act ? It's clear they have their agenda and whatever they say re: Turkey at this point needs to be taken with a mountain of salt. For goodness sake they're occupying a land not far from Turkey and potentially shooting down a passenger plane, running a sham of an olympic event stinking of corruption, ruining the Caspian Sea, falsely accused Georgia of aggressions in the region then took large-scale military action, who is now threatening retaliatory measures against NATO for inviting Montenegro, etc. The point is, this is not an actor that won't gain from shifting a lot of focus away. In fact, if you check out the documentary Find Finn it seems that Syria itself is buying oil from IS and involved in that is the Russian oil firm Stroytransgaz.
