New Kanye Album

Did anyone pick up the new Kanye album? I picked it up and listened to it. It is not bad so far. I think it will be far better than 50's.

There's actually a thread on this already, but yeah I love it.

I listened to the first two songs, which I thought were great. I'm excited that he ditched the skits (the bain of many a hip-album) and that it's supposed to me more consistent across the entire album, which was one of my few criticisms of his previous albums. I'm psyched about the rest of it.

I like him but he's getting a bit arrogant these days.

These days?! The man has had a giant ego from the day his first album was released and probably a lot longer that. But a lot of the great ones are almost offensively arrogant. He seems to revel in it a bit more than most, even self-consciously including at length in his lyrics.

Downloaded it from Rhapsody, overall I have no complaints.

dammit...I was reading the first posts thinking the thread was recent. I was about to make a b-line for iTunes.

Seriously, if the album's going to be anywhere near as unique and catchy as Love Lockdown it's going to blow some minds.

Does anyone know what the 808 in "808's & Heartbreak" stands for/signifies? Edit: just found it...area code 808.

Also just found out that it's all singing and all auto-tune? hmmmmmm...

Oooh, just found some promo pictures for the album:

I definitely prefer Heartless over LL. Kanye's looking sharp as always. Where can I COP THOSE HEARTZ, dawgz?!

I think it refers to the Roland TR-808 drum machine.
