I've drifted away from EG a bit the past couple of seasons, but really like the look of FW15. Might have to put some money aside ready for a fishtail and some funky pants

^ One of my initial thoughts when viewing the FW15 lookbook was that you'd seem at home in a lot of it.

No problem. Sorry to say it but a lot of FW14 is sold out. It was even in the first week of december while I was there. You should probably start with Nepenthes, as mentioned earlier, the flagship store. I also like Gentry and Odin. However Gentry is currently at a temporary and smaller location while renovating their new place. Both are great stores with friendly and helpful people.

Inventory is also really cool if you're into japanese brands, they usually stock somewhat exclusive items you don't see anywhere else however their NYC store is much smaller than their main store in Canada but worth a visit.

Corridor had what I think was some of the best and most interesting buys from EG FW14 of all stores however the place is located a bit off of central Manhattan, but I know for a fact they're on sale and hopefully got more stuff left than the others. Hope that helps, have a nice trip

so confused why it's in black and white

also really interested to see what they do with that varsity jacket

I am totally going to postulate and say that the theme for Fw15 is texture – the cable knit 3-piece suit and matching shawl; the faux fur; the coarse denim; the luster of coated canvas. Not that EG doesn't normally do incredible textures, but it seems a lot more apparent highlighted in black and white.

They shot it tonally because they don't like releasing full collection images so early. Leaves a bit to the imagination and some suspense to see what the full collection of textiles look like.

What is the fit of the western shirts in comparison to the work shirts? Are they cut trimmer?

@Shirts Anderson – Yeah. For me, the western shirt is the trimmest, least-strangely-cut EG shirt. Next slimmest is the tab collar.

Wow - I am hooked on FW15. That look book, even in black and white, looks simply amazing. The proportions and layering combinations are perfect. It is even more "out there" than past seasons but so well proportioned that an old fart like me can wear it. That's especially great as I still feel a bit meh on SS15 (after such a stellar SS14).

Three of the guys whose style I admire the most are Kgfan, ghostface and spacepope. I have no idea how to even begin to pull off what they do, but FW15 feels like it can give me an awesome starting point with a brand that I feel comfortable with.

Yes, looks great, and the dark tones hark back to much earlier collections. (NY'ers might remember that Hollander and Lexar on Atlantic Ave. was one of the first to carry EG and the vibe there was very moody steampunkish back in the mid 2000s rather than americana-ish)

One caveat -- I run kind of warm so I don't layer much -- and I'm sort of curious to see what Daiki can do with a more streamlined, structured fit. Maybe it would look like what his brother is doing...

Thanks eluther. Do you wear a t-shirt underneath? Seems like the gussets are not as high so I could get by without a bottom layer...
