Here I present a rare pair of Church's shell cordovan Derbies. I took a complete gamble and picked these up for myself without trying them on, since I am a size UK 9.5 and this forum has really given me the shell cordovan bug. I should have known that a G width fitting would swamp my standard width foot; wishful thinking on my part. Therefore I can now present them here on B&S for one lucky forum member.

For sale I have one pair of the Church's "Custom Grade" model named Grafton - a shortwing Derby shoe in a gunboat style. These are made from Burgundy Crup, more commonly known as shell cordovan (the term crup is used by EG and Church's, maybe other English makers too). Really a wonderful deep burgundy shell with a matte finish, not glossy like Alden. When the light hits these shoes there is some very nice colour/shade variation that becomes visible. However please note that the shell is uniform when comparing the right and left shoe side-by-side. If the attached images appear to show variation, that is just the sunlight effect at different angles.

Crafted on the round-toed 173 last, a look and fit that closely resembles EG's 202 last. This particular pair features a full double, oak bark tanned, leather sole. Just an incredible Fall/Winter derby which should prove to be almost indestructible. Years of regular use will go by before a resole is needed!

These are new with box, but without shoe bags. They're tagged as subs on the box due to a very minor flaw which I personally wasn't concerned over when originally purchasing. Note in one of the pictures that there is a slight surface scratch on the shell upper, found on the outer side of the left shoe (see image #24 attached). Quite a difficult flaw to spot unless you look up close under artificial lighting. The remainder of the photos should prove that the uppers of this pair are absolutely in pristine condition. There's no trace of the shoes having been tried on and hence no rolls have developed in the shell uppers.

The shoes are designated as a size UK 9.5 G width, which for Church's is a wide fitting, not extra wide (standard width Church's is an F). I would say they are comparable to an EG 202 last UK 9.5F.

Please note these will have to be shipped via a courier as the package will exceed the Royal Mail 2kg limit. Therefore increased shipping costs are incorporated into the price.

Price is $700 -> $650 -> $600 -> SOLD shipped CONUS or the EU
