When I first saw pictures of it, I thought it was an Acura RL. Doesn't look particularly BMW-ish to me.

I just test drove 4 2008 cars with standard transmissions:

Honda Fit-best of the bunch. solid feel, zippy, effortless shifting, nice features, especially the fold down seats for cargo space. ABS and front, side air bags are standard.

Toyota Yaris-feels cheap

Mini-neat but too fucking small, only in a 2-door, makes me wish for an old Mini, as I saw in Menton, feels like a pointless indulgence, something I reserve for clothing and wine

Mazda 3-great car, but a bit pricey, and just a regular car, not much space to haul stuff.

I actually like the 08 Accord. It's freaking huge. Looks are pretty decent.
