Does anyone own one? What are your impressions of this car as a daily driver?

keep in mind that most newer hondas have this annoying light that comes on every few thousand miles telling you to come in for service. supposedly the light can only be turned off by the dealer.

I lost interest in looking at them after seeing the first one.

This may contain typos and spelling errors. I looked at the car when they first came out about a year ago, and the dealer wanted $21,000 for the $15,000 model. I tried to talk to various dealers to honor the MSRP but they had people waiting in line to drop money on the spot with no test drive, and willing to wait 4 months for a car. I wanted an Autotmatic Sport, but what ever dealer I went to added the numbers to +$22,000 no matter what I said, so I walked out (yes various dealers did the same thing). I gave up and started to look at other cars. The car it self is nice, and comfortable and feels very roomy, but a redesign is coming ( I knew about it when I was looking), so I wouldn't buy the current model, as it has old technology. The newer one will have much more efficent and powerfull engine. The current model, lacks power, even with the paddle shifters. Honestly I like a car with a little sportyness to it and the Fit, is well like driving an underpowered mini-van. I did take a short test drive, as the car salesman was worried that other people might want to try driving it as it was there only one on the lot. Im opionion, its a nice little car, but the way the Honda dealers act is horrendous, and that alone convinced me not to go with a new Honda (A thrid party used one is a diffrent story). Also I've test drove and riden in the Scion's XB and XA (the first gen) and Nissan Versa, and like the Honda the best because of the standard features. But the Scions in value (dealer doesn't jack up the price), and design and gas millage win me over the Honda. Scion's are both cheaper, get better gas millage and have more aftermarket parts than the Fit. I highly recomend the XB if you decided to go the route (the first gen XB). The gas tank on the XB lasts forever. But I eneded up buying a very big Chevy truck, that drinks gas, and I really like it. So overall don't get the Fit, untell the new redesign is launched. Buy a Scion.

The seats are awful, and the driving position is like a miniature school bus. It sells for the cute factor..... which will fade.

Isn't a Mazda 3 a better option? Especially the 07s on clearance.

My son loved the Mazda 3, but passed because there was no price movement at the end of the model year. At least they weren't selling at a premium though. Finally went with a used Mazda 6, which he also loves.

I test drove the Fit and the Civic this week. The Fit is fine but reminds me of my '96 civic. The new Civic is great but 20" longer than the Fit. The other thing that bugs me about the Civic is that I can't see the front edge of the car from the driver's seat, and that seems like a bad omen for parallel parking.

I am now considering the Mazda 3 and Mini. Thanks, folks!

FWIW, we like the Mazda 3 a lot but have decided to go with the Fit for Honda's safety and reliability ratings. I find that the visibility in the Mini is a problem.

Screw the Fit, I'm liking the '08 Accords with a 268HP V6. Now you can get the EX with the 17" wheels and the V6 without leather, or GPS for that matter. Not bad for $26.5K, and the 6spd should be even less and capable of really ringing that sweet engine.

I bought a Fit Sport auto for my 16-yr. old daughter; it is fine for what it is. Plus the platform/powertrain has been out in Asia for 5+ years, 100% confident in its reliability.

Speaking of the 2008 Accord, what is everyone's opinion on it? While I like the front, I am not crazy at all about the back. Its rear design evokes the BMW 5 series styling.
