I only learned of the devil's influence over port-siders recently (in Italian left is sinistra, from sinistro, meaning sinister). Growing up I just thought lefties were smarter....

I once wrote a paper in college about how left handed people are one of the most discriminated-against minorities in the world.

I ought to hit your hand with a ruler for writing that!

I have to always be conscious of where I am sitting at a table to avoid bumping elbows with other people at the table.

True, but we don't look like fools switching the fork/knife from hand to hand trying to cut something. It is simple - knife in right, fork in left - eat.

I was Incitatus for a year, but then I switched to Porcus at the behest of my teacher. I guess I was a chunky 9th grader.

It's well known that the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body. Therefore, lefthanders are the only ones in their right minds.

My oldest daughter is left-handed and her teachers and softball coaches have tried to discourage her. Luckily she remained herself.

I have more dexterity in my right hand, but my left hand is stronger. Used to make more interesting bets in arm wrestling.

People make fun of the way I hold a fork and a pen. When I write it looks as though I am in pain.

I broke my arm playing football in 5th grade and had to learn to write with my right hand. It really sucked when I had to write a phrase 100 times on the blackboard as punishment.

Sitting at tables can also be an issue except in my family where 3 of the 4 are left handed.

When I broke my left arm I now have superhuman strength in my wrist. I fight crime in my spare time.

I throw with my right hand and catch with my left and have a better right jab than a left. Does that make me semi ambidextrous?

I liked it because it made me different, plus I always got to play 1st base in Little League. However it was a major pain at times in school, because they never had lefty scissors, desks, etc.

My daughter is lefty as well, and I am bugging her school to give her a lh desk.
