I think the Stantons have more of a 'used/washed' look.

Oh I see, so I assume Chinos are more work appropriate but still good for casual wear

Is the J Crew 484 slimmer than Urban Slim? Any idea on the leg openings of these two different fits?

Slimmer all the way down.

So I tried on the much talked about Dockers D1 slim fit and the Alpha Khakis

Dockers D1 Slim fit - Size 30x32

Fit - Not as slim as I'd hope. It reminds me of the Levis 514 fit.

The D1 is for sure more formal than the Alpha which is I'd say a step up from jeans.

If I was to buy I'd for sure taper the legs a little. It's not over baggy though

Dockers Alpha Khakis

Size 30x30

Fit - Very slim below the knee but not emo tight like some of you guys like to wear your pants satisfied.gif

Thoughts - As mentioned it's def more casual than the D1 slim's, it has like a jeans type finish. I would only be able to wear it on casual Fridays which only happens at my work once a month.

If I had to choose for work of course the D1 and I'd get em tapered slightly.

Casual - Alpha.

I don't know if these guys shrink though.. Any ideas?

Cost was $49 bucks.

I have 2 pairs of D1's and neither shrunk much at all (if any).  I wash on cold and tumble dry low.  Dockers are easy to take care of.

Anyone have experience with Edwin 55 Chino's? I can get them for half price but don't really know the quality and fit...

Anyone have an alternative to Dockers Alpha Khakis? They fit great but they're too short, I can't find 33x34 inseam anywhere.

Yes. I too wear 33x34 and lament the lack of Alpha in that size. However, there is a better alternative:

Billy Reid made in the USA chino is my favorite right now.

I just got myself a pair of Ralph Lauren Custom Fit Stretch chino.

In comparison to the other slim fit pants I've got - BB Milano, Dockers D1 and Gap Slim Fit. - this RL custom fit is more trim than all 3 for the same size, and the material is nicer.

Hey guys I'm looking for some new khakis that are more casual than the current BB milano's I wear, which I like the fit of. I was wondering on the opinions of

Rugby university chinos

vs

Docker's alpha khakis

vs

Land's End Canvas straight fit.

Not really looking for super slim fitting chinos, I just don't want to be swimming in them like I am with Polo's khakis or something.
