It's been a while since we've had one of these, so here we go. New thrift scavenger hunt inspired by Trivial Pursuit and sponsored by the greatest hero of our generation: The Ikea Monkey. I threw this together pretty quickly. Sorry if it's way too easy or too hard. I tried to think of things throughout thrift stores instead of just focusing on the clothing section.

Rules (from what I remember):

1. Print out my awesome ****** photoshop picture and write your username on it.
2. Photos must be taken in a thrift/secondhand shop with the Ikea Monkey picture displayed in the photo.
3. Entries must be in by 11:59pm on Saturday, Dec 6. I'll tally up points and declare a winner.

Prize: $20 Amazon gift card because I'm lazy and couldn't think of anything better. Also, if someone outside of the US wins, I can e-mail it and not have to spend money on shipping. Also, winner is in charge of starting the next scavenger hunt.

Here we go:

Geography:
1. Globe wine & liquor cabinet-style
2. Scarf with printed map or landmarks (anything geographical will count)
3. Hard Rock Cafe shirt or coat from a European city

Entertainment:
4. Any item of clothing with the Misfits skull logo
5. Vintage rock and roll band t-shirt (no points for licensed Target or comparable fake vintage band shirt)
6. Alfred Hitchcock DVD or VHS collection (has to be more than one movie in one box set)

History:
7. Vintage suit or sport coat by a Savile Row tailor
8. Vintage red label Jos A Bank piece
9. Abraham Lincoln Biography. (Bonus points for each separate Lincoln biography you can get in one picture. 1 counts as 1 point, 2 counts as 2 points and so on.)

Arts & Literature:
10. Stephen King book marked First Edition (+10000 points if you find the first edition of ‘Carrie’ with P9 on page 199)
11. Any book by horror/weird fiction author Thomas Ligotti (if you find one, you should do a quick eBay completed results search. his books are worth $$$)
12. Harris Tweed with elbow patches (because that’s what literary folks stereotypically wear, right? +1 bonus point if it’s stained with whiskey and failure tears)

Science & Nature:
13. Science Kit
14. Any article of clothing with a constellation themed print
15. Cosmos by Carl Sagan book, VHS or DVD/Blu-Ray

Sports & Leisure:
16. NBA jersey from 80s 90s basketball player (+1 bonus point if player was on 1992 USA Dream Team)
17. Charlotte Hornets Starter Jacket
18. Hammock

Bonus point: Thrift store receipt totaling more than $100

Can I get a ruling on how old constitutes vintage with regard to band tees?

Question: What if I recently thrifted something that is on the list? (I did

)

Does that count, or must it be found on the rack in the store and photographed there?

EDIT: **** now I see the answer to that in the original post. Don't mind me!

Will join in if I can! The hunt is on...

Any ideas on the proper lighting for failure tear stains? Incandescent just isn't cutting it.

Just pray that they are tears... If he never received tenure, he may have resorted to other "jobs" to pay rent.
