Meermin
Meering is an interesting concept. It’s a spanish company that offers medium-range footwear at surprisingly affordable prices. The catch is that order times are long, and they’re moving towards a Gustin, group-buy model, where if a certain threshold of purchases aren’t reached nothing is made. Will it work? I think that there needs to be more shoe companies that shake up the traditional clothing paradigm; but, the jury is still out.
Rick Owens
Depending on who you ask, Rick Owens is either an elaborate practical joke transformed into a successful fashion label, or one of the brands that helped transform a segment of men’s fashion into something that could be described equally as “cool”, “sexy” and “dark.” Maybe the truth lies in the middle: you have to have at least some sense of humor if you decorate yourself with giant wax sculptures of yourself with a scorpion’s tail, but, no matter what, Rick Owens makes some incredibly awesome clothing. Musings aside, this thread is only 14 pages and it’s a travesty. Get to talking about Rick Owens jackets, now!
Coolness
I focus a lot on clothing in this space, but I think it’s worthwhile to also highlight some of our excellent threads devoted to the other, admittedly inferior, parts of our lives. This thread is an exploration of furniture that’s simply cool. At the end of the day a chair is just a chair, but, by that logic, a shirt is just a shirt, and since when has clothing equivalency ever been the watchword of StyleForum? Read this thread, you might learn something; I did.
