He treated street artists, cyclists and otherwise pedestrians like garbage. Seems to me that he wanted to suck all the flavor out of NYC. I am also under the impression that Giuliani allowed a good chunk of Times Square property to be sold to Disney.
Ok, so your one of those... Living here and visiting are two different things. If you want the "flavor" of crackheads, drug dealers, prostitutes, and squeegee-guys, it's different when it's in your own backyard. Times square is now booming economically due to Giuliani. Both Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley have moved their headquarters there (rather than Jersey). Mtv is there, and it is now booming with tourists. I have zero problems with the fact that he has cleaned up NYC. It is not a coincidence that crime here is many times lower than it was before he took office.
