$200 price cut already?!? 'Sup with that? Jobs is, if nothing else, a gifted showman.

If you look at the price positioning of the touch screen iPod, I think this price drop was necessary. They're cramming a lot of products in a relatively small price range.

My iPod died last week so I've been counting the hours until 1PM today...think I'll get the 80Gig 'Classic' $100 cheaper than I could have yesterday.

Yeah, I'd hate to be somebody who bought an iPhone in the past few weeks.

You know this drives me nuts. This is the same irritation that iriver's clix2 has caused me. 16 GB maximum? Get the thing a little bigger and stuff a real hard drive in it. If I were to load all my music and a few films for say a long trip I would need at least 50 GB. Ugh. Plus the Archos larger-screened media players with wifi and large capacity drives are around the same price as the 16gb Touch. And the iPhone is still overpriced considering you have to sign away your soul to AT&T for two years AND pay $399... But that Starbucks deal is just... weird.

I have seen a couple in the wild. Twice at clubs, both times people trying to take pictures. Last time I felt a little evil so I took video with my phone of the band and the person next to me trying to take stills of the band with the iPhone

The 160gb "classic" will be a nice birthday or Christmas gift to myself. That storage is awesome and I haven't had an iPod since I gave my first-gen to my brother a year or two back.

I like the concept of the new Touch but I'm definitely on the "16 gbs? wtf?" train. My ipod turned 3 years old this month so when I heard rumors of a touch ipod, I was pretty happy about Christmas. This is just disappointing. I'd hate to think I'd have to "settle" for the 80gb Classic just because my iTunes collection consists of more than Season 1 of "The Office" and a couple of John Mayer albums.

I want the 160 gig version. I was waiting for a 100 gig iPod and this just blew my mind. $350 isn't the amount I wanted to pay though.

Jon.

Just ordered a silver 160GB Classic. I've had a 4GB nano for a couple of years now that has been great, but it'll be nice to have all the tracks with me (16393 ). I don't quite see the point with the new Touch. Had it had a 80GB or so HD it would have been perfect, but 8 & 16GB!? At just $100 more, who wouldn't just get the iPhone instead?

I will probably get a Classic. I want a bigger screen for watching my TV shows though but the Touch has teeny capacity - 8gb or 16gb. Boo.

I think it'll be another big holiday season for Apple. Gotta hand it to them.
