He's landed some pretty fine trim in his day.

What shocks me most about all this... is that he is 47 years old.

I thought Canadians would be more tolerant of alt.net type lifestyles.

As a Canadian I really don't care about him or the CBC. I'm not shocked to see this type of recourse from either that firm or a person employed by them though I have never heard of him prior to this story. If he wants to cover himself in baby oil, listen to Yoko Ono and have his nuts stepped on by some 300lbs man woman who am I to either care or judge. Two consenting adults are just that but it tends to get ugly at some point no matter how "mature" they think they might be.

He's a darling of GTA, Vancouver, and like minded people so not everyone in Canada is aware of him. The issue here is that, unlike Rob Ford, Ghomeshi is a "right minded" person so they cannot just toss him to the wolves. The problem comes in due to the fact that "women don't lie about this" and so now folks have to decide whether to give this right minded person the benefit of the doubt, but if they do, they are "slut shaming" and such catch phrases.

That's quite the conundrum. Being myopic and intolerant ("right minded") must be exhausting.

Email blast from my obese wombyn lesbian friend from high school:

Friends, the new Toronto Star article circulating about Ghomeshi is incredibly painful to read. I'm putting it out there.. if you are someone who may be triggered or harmed in some way by reading multiple stories of graphic physical and sexual assault.. skip the article and just know that 8 women have come forward and one has put her face/name in the media to help hold him accountable. Parents.. your kids are likely reading this stuff as it trends on twitter and Facebook... check in and have the hard conversations.

Trigger warning.

Have the "hard conversation." Because Ghomeshi is that important.

"Two of the women who allege they were physically assaulted also say that before the alleged assaults in his home he introduced them to Big Ears Teddy, a stuffed bear, and he turned the bear around just before he slapped or choked them, saying that “Big Ears Teddy shouldn’t see this.” "

She first met Ghomeshi at a barbecue at a Banff television festival in 2003. They chatted and, in time, she visited Toronto and they had dinner at a restaurant on the Danforth. She recalls him telling her how famous he was and “how lucky you are to be with me.” They went back to his house in Riverdale. DeCoutere said they began making out and then she alleges he pushed her against the wall, choked her with his hands around her neck and then slapped her three times.

So I guess that line worked? shog[1].gif
