Was in Barney's New York at the Palazzo this new years eve looking for a black satin bow tie, considering it's impossible to find a self tie one these days.

Walking around with my wife around the Missoni dresses on the middle floor when black gentleman comes up to us and places a $260 Stella McCartney tee on the rack, smiling as he does it. He looks at us, and then goes back to the woman he's with.

So I think to myself, wow, that man looks a lot like John Legend. I bet he gets that a lot...

Punchline is that it was John Legend, in town performing at the hotel. A surprising amount of people in the store and around the area didn't even recognize the man.

Never found that bow tie.

Tossers...

I would have refused to shake his hand if I thought he was a tosser..

He sounds like a decent person.

Actually, he wasn't that bad on the economic front..

The Iran hostage episode killed him..

He was a great guy, I think an underrated president, but he was absolutely miserable on the economic front.

Bobby Flay at Zimmermans in Ann Arbor. He was just having lunch with his daughter. Most people around didn't recognize him.
