This may not count, but I was in the Presidential Honor Guard in the 80's and saw dozens of celebs at State Dinners during Reagan's second term. Too many to list, but a few stand out.
I opened the door on the gray Rolls for Prince Charles when he and Diana came to DC in about 1985 or so. (Drew lots to see who got to open Diana's door and lost). She was absolutely stunning.
Raquel Welch was an amazing presence.
Miles Davis - pretty awe inspiring. Looked up out of the blackness of his limo like a demon that didn't particularly want to get summoned.
Walter Matthau in a tux and a crumpled old cotton fishing hat.
Michael York was the nicest - he just came walking down the road and checked in through the security shed, no limo. Big smile, said hello, chatted a bit. I idolized him for The Three Musketeers.
Margaret Thatcher secretly came and went a lot, sometime a couple of times a week. Put her on and off Marine helicopters a dozen times. Her and Ronnie were quietly planning for a post-Soviet world, little did we know.
