I have left this thread alone before now but here goes. Probably my funniest encounter was when I saw David Beckham and Teddy Sheringham in a bar in Manchester. I went to the toilet and when I returned Beck's came over wished me well and shook my hand. As you can imagine I was staggered,it was only later when I found out that my then girlfriend had approached him and said that I was his biggest fan in the whole world and if he shook my hand I would be ecstatic...how embarrassing.

Now thats a nice girlfriend!

My encounter was after a 5 week tour of America in Seattle Airport 2 years ago. Whilst repacking my overweight luggage on hands and knees I heard a guy stood in front saying 'No Pics'! 'Oh its not me' he replied when I asked from my floor position 'Its her' point to a busty blond juicy couture clab chick stood only a couple of feet away, who turned out to be Jessica Simpson.

I often stop for a coffee on the way home and go past this non-descript litlle apt. building. Recently there's been a phalanx of can only be described as paparazzi lined up outside. A couple of weeks ago I saw a SUV pull up and this thin woman got out and went into the building, shutters clicking away. No one would tell me who it was, so I shrugged and got my coffee. Last week same thing. Again I asked one of the guys who it was and he made a point of 'ignoring' me (paparazzi code?

), but under his breath, and w/o moving his lips he whispered "Katie Holmes". I recognized the name (from the SF threads awhile ago) but took a moment to register who she was. Thinking I hadn't heard him, the guy rasped even louder "Katie Holmes!", and wandered over to a group of his compatriots who were smoking butts and reviewing their pictures. I thought that she was definitely a 'Hollywood' person and that he might have been BSing me.

Same evening I heard a clerk in a little bookstore down the block telling someone that Tom-Kat had been in the pizza place next door chowing down. They responded that Katie H. was in New York doing a play on Broadway.....

Compared to the 'buzz' generated by the SF thread, I found the whole experience strangely unmoving. I got more of a kick sitting across the aisle from Jerry Stiller at Roundabout a couple of years ago....

Now reside in Atlanta Georgia, but.lived in New York City for fifteen years (Actual residence: Park
Slope community in Brooklyn N.Y.). Some celebrities I ran into:

Cher (Going into Russian Tea Room) while walking over to Madison Avenue

Tony Randall walking down Broadway in the vicinity of Lincoln Center and we talked for couple of minutes,he was a truly nice man (True Gent with style)

Nick Ashford (Singer/Songwriter of "Ashford & Simpson) while walking near 9th Ave in the fifties.

Harry Belafonte waking down Broadway near 72nd street, he lives on the West End near Riverside Drive.

There were others that elude me at the moment . New York is such a compact and cramped place you can't help but collide with celebrities ... Oh , I was getting measured for a Custom suit at the
old Alan Flusser location and the late great designer Bill Blass walked in and I was introduced to
him. Alan made bespoke wear for Bill Blass. The suit that Alan crafted for me over twelve years ago (Black with chalk gray double breasted ,double vented and small ticket pocket) is still in fine condition.................. To all have a wonderful holiday season................. :)

I played blackjack at the Wynn Las Vegas with Lisa Kudrow. It was a cool way to lose $200.

Not me unfortunately, but my buddy drank at Dion Phaneuf's house the other night. Phaneuf is an NHL player who's currently dating EC. Apparently her hybrid SUV was in the garage.

WOW...that's really cool.

Despite all the hate toward David Beckham, I hear he is a genuinely nice guy. This story proves it.

Apparently my competition for a girl is Nikolai Khabibulin the goalie for the Blackhawks. I know jack **** about hockey, so I'm not intimidated at all. He seems like a nice enough guy, but supposedly he is about to be traded. Tough luck for him.

I was 'chatted-up' by Richard Simmons while waiting for my plane.
He seemed like a very genuine and outgoing person.

He is the FSU alumnus we are most ashamed of. And the competition is somewhat fierce.
