WTF does that mean? Price is inherently a factor in considering value. If you only buy designer Glycerin or Lauryl Sulfate, you need to get unbrainwashed.

ok yeah thats a good way of putting it. instead of worrying about what costs 5 bucks, think about what you're getting for your money.
thats not to say that you should go out and buy some frou-frou shampoo. go to costco, for ex. they have perfectly good conditioners there and spend $20 on a huge bottle that'll last you a long time.

I wash my hair about 1, 2 x a week, per several stylist's recommendations. Just rinse your hair and massage your scalp (this spreads the oil out on your hair and gets the surface dirt off). This is your cheapest alternative.

Be aware that if you try this, it will take a few weeks for your hair texture to adjust, but it works fine.

I go through about 3 bottles of high quality shampoo a year, and spend most of my money on my haircuts and hair product. I use conditioner a few times a year, only in the winter when my scalp and hair are incredibly dry.

No, I've never had anyone comment that my hair was dirty, gross or disgusting. Most women only wash their hair every few days themselves.

If you have a very oily scalp, you may not be able to do this (my girlfriend had this problem), but you certainly don't need to use shampoo and conditioner every day, it's a total myth.

Men sweat more than women, and most people are hesitant to comment on negative aspects of others' appearance and hygiene. That said, rare is the person who needs daily conditioner.
