No padding is a relative concept. What I've seen in I and II this season
doesn't fit me well, aside from the shoulders being a bit less natural than
a year or two go, as I said before. The same happened to Isaia Base 2 over
the last couple of years.

A cheaper alternative might be H Freeman MTM. I believe they make something very similar for half the price.

comrade - wtf are you talking about? No padding is a relative concept? You just said there "are no current models without shoulder padding" then said the current models have a more natural shoulder than a couple years ago, well which is it?

All classic Ralph Lauren Polo model suits (besides trendy named one's) have basically ZERO padding in the shoulder (please see Oldog/Oldtrix posts in WAYWT). Ralph is famous for this specific detail. You might be thinking of Black Label or Purple Label or I don't know what. Maybe check somewhere other than Palo Alto? Matt S. is absolutely right that this is the reason someone would go to RL for made to measure. Most tailors don't do soft construction or unpaded shoulders, especially in this price range.

Has it been confirmed that the Polo MTM suits are half-canvassed? Is full canvas construction an option?

Has anyone done MTM Ralph Lauren, either Polo or Black Label, recently? What's the price range now? Can you do PRL for under $2k?

I'm thinking of having a made to measure sport coat or suit done. I'm having trouble replicating a specific look (that PRL does) in a size that fits me (38L) without paying top dollar for the top dogs like Despos (one day... worship.gif). I think Ercoles would be able to do it at a good price actually, but I don't live in New York.

Good question; I'd be interested to know about pricing as well.

On a side note, visited the Madison Ave. mansion for the first time and was very impressed (and they had tonnes of stuff on sale).

I liked the Chicago store better than the Mansion. The restaurant was nice too.
