FYI: for Cetaphil fans like myself, you can go to the Family Dollar stores and find 16 ounce bottles of generic for 2 dollars a piece.

Try Kiehl's. Their products are great but kinda expensive.

Everyones (whether oily, dry, acne prone, or whatever) cleanser should be a gentle cleanser as its purpose is to remove surface oil and clean the skin to prep it for further care. My favourites are :

clinique liquid mild facial soap( round 10 $ us 8 ounces)
cetaphil gentle skin cleanser (not as good as some of the others but the price is right.)(4$ us 8ounces)
neutrogena one step cleanser(8$ us-7ounces.)
md formulations non glycolic foaming cleanser(24$ us- 8ounces.

I find that many of the department store cleansers and other products are ladent with perfume and irritating ingrediants like alcohol, which have no merit for the skin. Cosmetic companys seem to think people will buy anything that comes in a pretty bottle and smells really fresh and exciting...but really alot of of it is bull.

My main problem with my skin has always been acne. I've tried everything out there under the sun froom the fancy 100$ shite at sephora to the 4 dollar stuff at the drugstore and hardly any of it was even worth considering using again...it always made everything worse.

I follow my cleanser with a good shave, a light toner, an exfoliant (usually in the evening, salicycilic acid ones are the best since my skin is prone to breakouts. If this isn't your problem, try a light AHA, like those from neostrata or neutrogena.), then a moistuzier. Gentle is ussually always the most effective. The problem i find with alot of the big cosmetic brands is that there product is ladent with perfume and other irritating products)
The toner I use removes any excess oil left over from cleansing, detoxifys with antioxidants (green tea, oat, mulberry, chamomile, vitamin a,c and e). Its from Paulaschoice
The exfoiliant I use (bare escentuals bare-vitamin skin rever upper, or paulas choice 2%bha liquid) detoxifys the skin and dislodges my pores (this is especially needed if you have breakouts)
Lastly I use clinique, moisture in control for my face afterwards to relieve any dryness.

i strongly suggest you check out www.paulaschoice.com for advice, her packaging is really simple and its her claims are on how her products work are not inflamed...her products are the only thing that have made my skin look better and she goes in depth to tell you why hers work better, and has descriptions for every ingredient in her solutions. She also has a website and a few books or something, that review other cosmetics brands and inspect for irritating ingrediants, unjust marketing and the like and rates em. check it out. seriously.
