Anyone interested in joining me in a bulk order of 13" Tailors' Shears (scissors) made in Italy?

Katabitic are you a tailor or a "citizen??

I'm a dabbler. I've been learning pattern making and basic clothing construction over the last year, working on a casual jacket (a field jacket style to start with). I intend to eventually make trousers, casual jackets, vests, and the simpler, unconstructed tailored jackets for myself.

It's not my first foray into sewing - for years I made custom messenger bags and other heavy duty bike-related luggage (see Zugster Bags). it started as a hobby, and evolved into a part-time business that funded my other pricy obsessions (mainly bicycles at the time). One of my nicest possessions is a beautiful Juki industrial sewing machine. Cost as much as a very nice suit

What are the non-tailors planning on using these for?

Katabitic are you a tailor or a "citizen??

I'm a hobby seamstress and I was wishing I had one whilst making my daughter's coat.

Hey everyone, some great news.

The gold/brass handles are going to be possible with this order. They are the ones that look like this:

700

I know some folks were on the fence about joining in because they wanted those handles, so it's awesome they are willing to include them as part of this order. The negative part is that there will be a surcharge for it, in the range of $20 to $40 for each pair, but they sure are shiny :satisfied:

Anyway, for folks that miss this post, I will be asking everyone in the messages I send for a deposit what color handles they want. If this news makes you want to join in, please post here and I'll reach out to you.

Lastly, we are at about 95 orders total now, with the 2 above that makes 97.

Hey everyone: requests for deposits are out. We are over 100 now. Thanks for the enthusiasm and support.

Any new participants need to get in by Tuesday (Nov 25) at the latest. I need a final quantity and to transfer the deposit by then.

The message I sent specifies details, I can't wait for your deposits beyond the date in the message, so I will have to move with the orders I have if you are on the fence, sorry.

A few comments that I have seen: I can't drop ship from the factory most likely. It was hard enough to convince them to produce such a small run, so please understand, they are not exactly interested in having their staff ship a single pair. Also, I want to make sure you are getting the precision tool you are expecting, so inspecting the quality is important and overrides the small savings.

Hey all,

60% of the deposits have been received, you should have an PM or email for details. If you don't, let me know right away.

Please sort this out ASAP so as not to hinder the production schedule.

If you are choosing to bow out of the order, please let me know rather than not respond. It saves me the effort in chasing folks down, and leaves me with some clarity as to whether we're dipping below 100 orders or not (and subsequently lose the price advantage). I took everyone at their word and priced accordingly, so please follow thru or let me know you changed your mind.

I am targeting midnight tomorrow night EST as the cutoff for deposits.

I'm in.

I originally contacted Gustavo (OP, is that you? Or, is Gustavo a different person?) to let him know that I was in.

However, as of now, I still have not received an email from him providing me with the deposit info. OP, could you PM me, please? Thanks.
