It's not influenced, via wikipedia:

At the start of Watchmen he has retired to devote his attention to the running of his own enterprises. Ozymandias was directly based on Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt, whom Moore had admired for using his full brain capacity as well as possessing full physical and mental control.

You mean Steve Jobs can't dodge bullets?

Just saw it. Didn't like.

- Pacing. Terrible. As others have pointed out the end went way to quickly.
- Half the movie was flashbacks. Sure, you have to have some character background, but you've also got to have a movie in there somewhere as well.
- Dialog. I suspect that a lot was ripped straight from the pages of the GN. May be ok to read, but sounds pretty bad on screen.
- I felt that the subplot of Comedian being that chicks father could have been removed with no detriment to the movie.
- Manhattans wang. Didn't bother me. What did was people snickering in the theatre every time it showed itself.

A couple of disclaimers. I haven't read the GN or any GN for that matter. It might be that I just don't like this certain style of movie. I hated the Dark Knight too.

One final thing. Why wouldn't adrien just use the power source to provide cheap free energy like he claimed? Am I that wrong in thinking that would've done just as good to unite the powers?

The book ended very quickly as well, but I think Moore pulled it off. Adrian's life story, right before the climax just worked for me.

I still haven't seen the movie - I full well know I will though, even though it'll be a huge disappointment. There are some things that were so genius about the book that just can't be duplicated. Moore's storytelling just can't be shot on film. You guys remember the chapter about Dr. Manhattan? Got to be one of my all-time favorite pieces of writing.

^Actually the Dr. Manhattan origin story is probably the best segment of the movie on the whole.

Apparently the film's producers are begging meganerds to go and see it again this weekend. This is due to the medicore numbers put up last weekend.

That's sad.

That's good to hear. I was worried that my favorite sequence was going to be bastardized or butchered beyond recognition, if it even made it in.
