I despise "roughing it."
I imagine this puts me in the minority, but I've never gotten the fascination with cars. I want a reliable car that looks good to my eye, that is comparatively inexpensive to maintain, and that will get me from A to B. Beyond that, I don't care about engines, wheels, interiors, etc.
Oh yeah, I don't get scotch either. I think it's pretty vile and the only reason some guys drink it is because they think they ought to.

I am drawing a distinction between things I don't get and things I get but don't care about. I understand why some guys are into cars, even though I am not. I don't understand the appeal of dip.
I think you are the primary example of someone who drinks the stuff because he feels that he ought to. I feel a lot of people drink the stuff because they are trying to portray some kind of imagre rather than because they really like it.
