Keep it simple....try to eat every three hours or so. Three regular meals with three snacks. Also, it can be best to eat more carbs in the morning and taper off as the day goes along, you don't need the extra carbs late at night. For snacks, try to include a protein (cottage cheese, almonds, walnuts, lean meat) and a carb (fruit, low fat yogurt, granola, etc). I usually have a good dose of carbs with my breakfast but by the time I get home at night and make dinner, it is usually chicken or steak with a side of vegetables or salad.

There are many good books on diet out there... A few general rules would be:

No sugar (and no light-products, since they'll still make you crave sugar)
No junkfood
Only eat low glycemic carbohydrates (that means cutting out white bread, white rice, plain pasta, and substituting with whole grain bread and pasta and brown rice)
Eat less fat (but don't avoid it completely, your body needs it!)
More vegetables

But really, do yourself a favor and READ about this subject.
Good luck!

Before you consider weight-loss supplements, have you done your readings on how losing weight works?

I'd suggest spending a few weeks preping yourself by reducing your food portions and slowly changing the way you eat rather than trying to go about it cold-turkey.

It's not difficult if you plan it out in advance and stick to it.

It sounds like all the basics have been covered, except for sleep and sunlight. It's especially difficult to lose plenty of weight without addressing those two. Your age and other factors suggest you could do better on them. In terms of exercise, literally run before you walk, outdoors (not near pollution or much exhaust) and in the first stage of your transition to a slimmer, happier self.

First off I'm certainly no expert on weight loss but I think I can give you some advice. -1 Spread your meals out over the day, Instead of 3 bigger meals aim for 5-6 smaller meals to let your metabolism work better. Also try not to eat 1-2 hours before you sleep. Make sure you get a lot of sleep too if you're working out hard. -2 Dont eat white bread, white rice, lot of sugars or very complex foods, don't eat a ton of food with marinates, butter and that fat stuff. -3 Swimming is an amazing exercise -4 Run a lot -5 Use a thermogenic to get your metabolism up, maybe coffee in the morning, always get your heart beat up slowly before doing very intense workouts, walk and jog a little before running, jump around and stuff or do a little pushups before you work out. -6 Dont fall for Diet drinks, drink water, and lots of it.
