Help me pickout a queen sized bed!

So, I found a bed I really like at Bo Concept.

Unfortunately, the Bo Concept website isn't displaying the beds, but you can flip through the catalog virtually.

If the website was functioning properly, which it might soon, you can find the beds here:

I'm interested in the Limo Bed

If you direct your attention to page 166. At the bottom of page you will see the Limo Bed w/ Headboard. This is the bed I am interested in. On the other page (167) you will see the Limo bed sans headboard, but with drawers built in the bottom.

For the Limo bed w/ head board is 999 + 329 for the drawers. So the price is around basically $1330.

I really like the modern design and the storage drawers under the bed.

The problem is, this headboard is very big - making the width of the bed quite large for a queen and would really limit the amount of space in my room.

So, I'm hoping for suggestions of beds in the style - with drawers under the bed, in this general price range.

I know there are a lot of guys here who know a lot about furniture. I don't really know anything. So any help would be much appreciated.

You can also see examples of this bed on pages 148/149 and 152.

Not that I'm an authority on furniture or anything, but Doorstore has a couple things along the lines of what you're looking for:

I've realized the queen bed I'm looking for is either a wooden or upholstered; with an inset mattress, and ledges on the sides. No storage necessary. It cannot be more than 75" width. So I've since seriously adjusted my budget upward. I'm now looking at the Oya Sumi bed from Roche Bobois. This is literally the only picture I can find. It's not in the show room in NYC or DC - Not even the SA's have any additional pictures. I'm considering ordering just from picture. I also like the Moonlight bed. I would get it without the lit up pedestal ($8500). It has clean lines, is low to the ground with recessed leg stands so it looks like its floating. The best part is, it has nice, but small ledges, making the width only 66", a major positive for my room. Has anyone seen either of these beds in person, especially the Oya Sumi (or even have any additional pictures)? Does any one have an opinion, positive or negative, on Roche Bobois? Give the further examples, does anyone have any suggestions on the type of bed I'm looking for -- under $5K including all costs (slats & delivery). I'm going to save on tax by ordering from an out of state Roche and shipping to NYC (no additional cost to local Roche).

I've gone from a queen mattress with box springs to a king mattress on a stylish low-slung bed without box springs. I much prefer the mattress AND box springs. If you go with a low-slung bed make sure it has a solid foundation. A lot of beds like that use slats or cheap particle board below the mattress.

No storage under bed? In NYC? Well in that case I have only one comment, I would not advise ledge beds. I bang my ankles all the time against them. It is very uncomfortable to get out of bed because of ledges and you cannot really use them creatively since they are too low and to narrow. I'd say avoid these designs.

Maybe it's just me, but when I start thinking about spending $5000+ on non-upholstered furniture, I'd be tempted to find a local craftsman and design something that fits my exact needs.

For that kind of money I'd go for an Interlubke. They have a reputation as being the best bed manufacturer of the European design-oriented makers. I own one and have been quite satisfied. Also, they can be highly customized during the ordering process.
