Willing to do consignments on Ebay.

I am willing to sell items on your behalf on Ebay (or SF if you like).

I am an Ebay powerseller with a strong reputation and repeat buyers.

I take good photos and use thorough and well-written descriptions to make sure my items fetch top-dollar. My items tend to end at above-average prices; a few months ago I sold a few used Hickey Freeman suits for $450-$485 each.

I am interested in selling all the usual SF culprits, as well as fashion-forward brands like Gucci, Armani, and Dolce.

You simply ship your items to me, I do all the ironing/steaming/polishing, photography, measuring, writing, question-answering, payment-collecting, and shipping. Then I'll send you a check, money order, or paypal payment.

Obviously higher-profit items are going to be the best for both of us - small items that sell for $25 or so won't provide either of us with a significant return. I'd like to focus mostly on suits, jackets, outerwear, shoes, etc. Shirts and ties would also be acceptable so long as they fetch around at least $75.

We can discuss a fee percentage, which would be flexible depending on the item value. Please Private Message me with any items you wish to sell or questions you have. I will provide my Ebay ID and a resume of completed auctions through PM.

Here are some sample photos - probably the biggest determiner of price on ebay:

Very nice photographs!

Great idea. I can't stress enough the importance of seeing clothes on a tailor's mannequin rather than on a hanger, not to mention the quality of the close-ups. A close-up of the manufacturer's label is the best indication of authenticity that an ebayer can hope for.

I figured you had pretty good pics but those are insane

I strongly recommend some of you take his offer up. I've seen some of SF forumites' so-called, "okay no takers? well they are off to ebay then" listings. they need help

He's a great seller. I've bought quite a few items from him, including that Battistoni tie coiled up like a rattlesnake. Easy to deal with.

I have got to get a tripod.

An opposite trend, I've noticed, is that certain really bad listings get bid up extremely high. I suspect it's because these bidders think they are getting a deal and get caught up in the frenzy.

Actually I hand-hold. I use two 500w lights, and I am usually shooting at about f5.6 and 1/50s so I don't have a lot of camera shake.

Thanks for all the kind words. Ebay started out as a hobby and turned into a full-time job - I love doing it. I would love to have the consignment idea work out.

Does your camera have a manual mode? What exposure time are you typically using? If you can shoot in indirect sunlight at f5.6 or f6.3 you should only need 1/40 or 1/50 second exposure time which can be hand-held without blur.

I am interested in selling some limited Surface 2 Air shirts (are you familiar with street wear?) and some Paul Smith plaid trousers, Jil Sander brogues amongst other things. I am on a Blackberry at the bar now (lame) but I will follow up soon. I didn't read your prior post carefully (sorry) but I guess the case is that I send them to you with a prefered asking price, you post them and then exact your toll from the selling price? This sounds like a round-a-bout but good system to me. As long as we both come out on top, yeah? I probably should have put this all in p.m. Feel free to respond in kind unless you want others to benefit from the information.

Edit: I don't ply in brands like Gucci. I am interested but I don't know if we are on the same page price-wise. I have great current street-wear (Surface 2 Air, J. Lindeberg, APC) and a lot of classics (Church's, vintage Cole-Haan, Edward Green, Lanvin, etc.) but none of these enjoy a great deal of brand recognition. If you are still interested, I will be in touch.
