A long skirt (quarters) is part of the Attolini silhouette. It creates a more even balance between the part above the buttoning point and the part below. If you compare it with e.g. Formosa, you'll see the difference: there, the top is a lot longer than the bottom. To me, that looks a bit unbalanced and is the reason why I'm not so enthusiastic about the Formosa cut as the majority here on SF.
Notice also that the Formosa gorge is lower than the Attolini gorge, which gives the jacket more balance to me. The Attolini silhouette is more hourglass, while the Formosa is more like the top of a Corinthian column, trapezoid with longer side on top over rectangle.

Lol!

I'm not a huge fan of that gorge/lapel and all their jackets seem to 'pucker' at the buttoning point.

I already dumped my sport coat in a Good Will bin and told UPS not to bother delivering my Minnis houndstooth suit.

I think of most things as:

1. Abstract learning.
2. Practice.
3. Analysis.

I think a lot of people on here (god knows I have) have jumped into 3 before they're done enough of 2. And really, it's not possible to have too much practice.

If we're talking about looking good, I think of the most important things as:

1. Being thin
2. Money
3. Practice

Voxsartoria gave away his wealth early on. So, for those looking to him for inspiration, just give away your money and you'll dress better.

Something tells me there's a bit of elision here, but not sure of what. Hmmm . . .

Here's another blue tweed I dislike. Kind of a sky blue or cerulean blue.

I know you're being your usual combination of serious and ironic, but...

Being in reasonably good shape helps more than being thin per se... but I would certainly agree that looking after yourself is a more effective way to look good than buying expensive clothes for your unshapely form - unless you have a superb tailor.

And money helps to a certain point, but only contributes to looking good if you actually have taste - or your paid advisor / consultant has taste! Wealthy people might be able to buy anything they like, but they are often the worst-dressed people you will see.

And taste can come with practice... and just paying attention.
