Indeed that is the best term to use.

Nouveaux riches today ,old money tomorrow.....
The plebes of today will be the old money of tomorrow because it is easy to buy a title ,a blason and even a piece of history if you really want to and money ,a lot of it, can open you the doors of any aristocratic circles ,more than a title...

You will be shunned for a few years and your children will be fully part of it calling newcomers names..

It always has been like that.....The Aristocrats used to marry the factory's owner daughter to bring fresh cash to repair their mansions...

When Aristocrats were penniless and couldn't work for social etiquette reasons, marrying a commoner was the way to redorer le blason ....

In a way, we are all snobs.

Yes, but the most important snob to be is an intellectual snob, because you can't fake it. And you unlike money, you can't earn it later on.

I am a poor intellectual snob? In fact, you are right. Wish I had your pesos.

Not necessarily true with Asian aristocracy especially China where official examinations were more responsible for creating lines.

What I'd like to know is, how does one take a picture like that and get the shoes in the frame? I would think that with a lens wide enough to fit all that in, the heads would look like pumpkins...

Royalty are different from you and me. They get what we drool over.

Interesting...please cite your source(s)?

Nouveau Riche and old money are the same. While the nouveau riche mayor of Moscow is making money out of tearing down old Moscow landmarks and giving his wife's family the contracts to put up new ones, the Bush family is making cash hand over fist in New Orleans and Iraq and they are supposed to be old money.

Yale university and the Russian mafia aren't too different after all. So next time you tell your kids that they need a good education to be rich take a good look at how money is really made and point him/her in that direction.

This Russian billionaire dresses funny. He looks like Tony Montana's sidekick on Scarface.

I'm going on a date with a Russian chick this weekend. Any suggestions?

I just got back from the south of France and it's unbelievable how many rich Russians now vacation and spend their money there. St Tropez was the most surprising - Russian could be heard everywhere around the port and old town. The ratio of girls to men was about 4:1 and some of these chicks were hotter than August

Prime your liver. And don't mention the Cold War.
