Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 533

Thanks to a few SF friends (M-C included) I have had some new stuff to try lately. Today - CdG Kyoto (I've always liked this one; just an all-around solid woody oriental to my nose) Yesterday - Pure Havane (honestly, I can't see getting tired of this one; I feel bad for my bottle of Burberry London because it isn't getting used anymore) Sunday - Chanel Sycomore (like the poster above, I can't speak highly enough about it; it lasts yet it is light and easy to wear; to me it is a female Guerlain Vetiver with some CdG Odeur 71 thrown in) Saturday - Gucci Envy (this was the first time wearing it, and I can't say I'll be searching for it in the pile in the future; maybe I need to layer on more)

I just got some Mitsouko in the mail (purchased blind) and sprayed it on the wrist - someone please tell me this will grow on me. I can't imagine this being comfortable worn on the chest in the summer.

several sprays of DG one gentleman.

it's like cocain i guess. first time you use only a subtle two sprays. and later you amount to using 10 freaking huge sprays to get teh same amplification of scent (of course, in my mind i guess. im sure i reek at work).

I love Mitsouko. I would go light and use it at night. Probably more of a colder weather scent as well. If it just doesn't work for you PM me and we can figure something out.

Has anyone tried Juun J. or Damir Doma's Six Scent series offerings? If so, how are they?

I really am enjoying it so far. Haven't worn it enough to really form a total opinion yet. Check PM

It blows. Don't waste your time or money. You're better off with AdP.

The top notes are pleasant in a familiar chypre kind of way, but it is something about an hour in that becomes a bit "stuffy" (in an almost literal sense). I don't think it is the classic Guerlain civet(ish) note that gets me a bit in the wrong way, but I'm really not sure what it is just yet.

Which concentration are you using? For what it's worth, I think the edp is much better than the edt.

Today, Shalimar

Today, I think my allergies have become a cold now, so I kinda wanted something to pierce through it all: Ormonde Man.

Sho: this is normal for lots of people and lots of scents. I don't know if you remember Ivan Kipling, but he wore Eau Sauvage all the time - it was his only scent for years, until he eventually became anosmic to it, and had to switch to something else. Just couldn't smell it at all any longer. That's why I rotate them around a bit.

just got Guerlain L'Instant Homme EdT in the mail from Notreknip, AWESOME! I tend to gravitate to the really strong scents and this is probably the mildest I've enjoyed and it really does sit nicely on the skin.

^^^ agreed. It has a way of being present without being overbearing. and for a "chocolate" (coco actually) scent it's quite dry and warm rather than sweet. today, Ford Musk Pure on the right (boring - was this meant to layer?), and Ford Urban Musk on the left (this one's really growing on me!)
