Yesterday wore Tabac Original - had a rare Saturday business meeting and I wanted to smell sober and agreeable. Today I'm feeling like a walk on the wild side so I'm going to dip into my tiny tiny reserve of Un Biche dans l'absinthe. I only ever bought a small decant of this, then it was suddenly gone without a trace.

Today...a rare excursion to church, went with Monsieur de Givenchy, a very agreeable classic cologne.

Creed Royal Scottish Lavender - Not bad. Long tobacco drydown that I normally don't like but it was subtle with this stuff. I like it. Light and refreshing for summer. There's also a pronounced rose scent in it, it's not all grapefruit.

Thinking of getting a bottle of Terre d' Hermes. Heard good things about it, though it seems like an evening scent. .

I like it a lot. The top is an extraordinarily fresh, bright grapefruit. The top notes hold on for longer than you might expect, too. It's a great summery edc.

I'm wearing Bond No. 9 New Haarlem today--I got a sample from a very eager Bond representative at Saks yesterday. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I'm not noticing much development. I'm also not getting that strong lavender on top that so many reviewers refer to. On the whole, I still like it but definitely not enough to buy a bottle.

YSL Rive Gauche - Damn, I'm clean and soapy.

Today, indecision ruled so I reached into the herd and plucked out...Habit Rouge Legere.

wearing a sample of the new Bleu Chanel. I like it, its kind of a mix of the Allure and the Platinum.

YSL Pour Homme - A retro scentsation. I love the smell of this one. Popular in the 70s but not a powerhouse.

Jo Malone Grapefruit today. Nahneun's post yesterday about Hermes Pamplemousse Rose put me in mind of grapefruit fragrances. Jo Malone Grapefruit isn't nearly as good as Pamplemousse Rose, in my opinion. Somewhat harsh grapefruit opening that becomes very soapy in the drydown.

I seriously considered Pampelune this morning but didn't feel like walking across the bedroom. It was a lazy monday morning.

Today, for reasons I can't quite explain: EL Azuree.

YSL Live Jazz. Its the only sane fragrance I own that handles this weather competently.

Got in my LeLabo decants and partials today. Tried out the Vanille 44? Really disappointing and dammit if it doesn't smell exactly like something else that I just tried. The vanilla isn't really a typical "vanilla" smell. It sort of smells like a vanilla bean rubbed on my skin. Very similar smell to raw cocoa butter if you've ever smelled that. This might be very nice on a woman.
