for a chilly Friday and looking for something new, I swiped Mrs. Thomas's bottle of Chanel Chance. It doesn't feel terribly different from A*Men Pure Coffee excepting that the coffee note is dialed way back to make room for some iris.

Sampling Prada infusion d'home today,
I'm going to have to track down a bottle of this one for sure.

Rive Gauche today and Chanel Anteus later tonight. Have been waiting for winter to start to kick in to wear the Anteus again.

If you're buying vintage, then jump in - but if you only see recent bottles - test before plunking down the lucre.

You are definitely right that it has been reformulated... nevertheless, if you like the Bandit as it is now, you'll probably like the Cabochard, too. Both are classics in the leathery chypre category; another might be Jolie madame (Balmain) or the original Versace l'homme. I think dopey already has cuir de russie, which is probably the best in the bunch.

Edit: okay, changed my mind and decided to go with a Boozy classic, now sadly out of production: Balenciaga Pour Homme. Very hard to describe, but wonderful in its own strange way. It's very out-of-step with the current manifestation of Balenciaga (as a somewhat effete, androgynous ultra-chic fashion brand), but it's a really wonderful masculine scent.

Not sure why it was such a tough decision today, but settled on Divine's L'Homme Sage...

went with Kouros Fraicheur - a last-second decision and the box beckoned.

I do, and like it.

Today, Derby. I think I like it, and certainly see the family resemblance to Habit Rouge, or at least to HR Legere. Especialy in the dry-down, though Derby's is really dry. That is a good thing.
